Hi Layla,
I'm just over 9 weeks right now and am already understanding the emotional drain of pregnancy alone. Add on this kind of frustration and insecurity and I don't think that I could handle it. Hang in there.

I don't know if I can help at all. The thing that comes to mind first is that life doesn't always go as planned. You are pregnant and he has a responsibility and will hopefully appreciate that responsibility rather than resent it. Keep working on the relationship.
LISTEN to his concerns. This was unexpected and he needs to work through this new development in his own way.

Does he want you to get an abortion? Has he said that to you directly? What are his expectations? What are your expectations?
It sounds like he is blaming you in a way. Does he think you became pregnant on purpose? If so, that would explain why he feels so trapped. Perhaps some of his friends are suggesting this and he's really confused about what to believe.
He is probably very concerned about money since he isn't bringing in the dough. You'll have to work together to figure out how the finances will work whether it is just coping with the maternity leave or if that includes you changing your work responsibilities for an extended period of time.

What a huge change of lifestyle, right? 6 months ago he had one foot out the door and now his life is going to change so much. Big flip! Think of all of the ways your lives will change...make a list...and POJA each of the changes with your husband. He's probably terrified.

Best of luck! Take good care of yourself. Your baby needs you!
Smile
