My wife and I have been married for 1 year and we have been at each others throats for the past 9 months. We have one child together and i dont want this marriage to end but i feel like i am losing a battle that was never met to win. She goes out till all hours of the night with a friend who almost made us get a divorce about 5 months ago. Ever since then she hasn't wanted to be near her and now she is living close to our apartment. Now all my wife wants to do is leave the baby home with me and go out running around. She never lets me know when she is going to be home and when she does she doesn't get home until 1-2 hours later. It worries me because I dont know where she is at and i don't know what she is doing let alone if she is safe. She went out the other night came home an hour after she was supposed to with her friends and proceeded to take our daughter to her friends with her because she knew i was going to be pissed because of coming home a hour later. She was drinking and doing illegal narcotics and felt it was ok. I just don't know what to do anymore but i really want to try and avoid having to go through a divorce because of our daughter. Please help me..

I feel 4 u!
As much as I hate to say it, if narcotics are involved, ur situation will only get worse, emotionally & (heaven forbid) legally- protective services for children on drug related issues are not kind or forgiving.
It seems ur the main parent to your child, & ur trying to protect her. Then take ur child get an emergency custody order & take care of her, she is priority #1. If ur wife is a "mother" maybe it would be a reality check 4 her.
If you've been married 1 year & you've been going downhill for 9 months, I think it's spelled out 4 u. (I think u know in your head it's over, but ur
heart keeps hanging on with some hope)
***If it's because u don't want to be alone that ur putting yourself through this torture, trust me when I say, loneliness passes but what ur going to have to go through if everything keeps going the way it is....just lay down & throw dirt over yourself now!
***Best of Luck 2 u & your little angel!

I agree with the previous poster. Your options are very limited. There is *zero* chance of saving a marriage until the addictions are addressed.

Tough love may be in order here.

Your W can make her own decisions, you can't control her. You can control your response, and as you are the person seeing the issues, you have an obligation to protect your daughter, even from her Mother.

WHo knows, it may be the thing that gets her straightened out. But in any case, your options are limited.
