My husband will turn 40 this Saturday. A month ago he informed me that his co-workers will be renting a limo to take him out on the town for an evening of drinking, dancing etc. (males and females) I am hurt that I am not invited, especially since he has been with the co for a long time and I know the people. I am also hurt that he doesn't think it would be fun for me to be along. We always have fun together. I am hurt and have been hurt by him in similar ways. Therefore, we haven't even fought about it. I have just withdrawn. Am I overreacting? If so, I will swallow my pride and say that I am wrong for being hurt and will go on to plan something special for his big birthday. But right now I don't feel like doing anything special for him.

He is not being good to you to exclude you from his fun. Sounds like the problem goes back a ways. I would guess you need to be as open with him as you possible can. Tell him how it hurts.
And try to do the right thing without taking vengence.
Just my thoughts, sorry you are hurtin so

I think there maybe problems, but take some advise someone gave me in here , treat it as if it is water on a ducks back, let it run off. Let his friends take him but still plan something big for him when he gets back don't let it bother you so much or at least let it show. I took the duck advise one step farther every time my wife now bothers me i quack a few times it's my way of taking time out.

I appreciate this feedback and will think about it. I needed a disinterested perspective because of course my girlfriends think he is being totally mean. thanks

L,
I think that I too would feel a little left out and hurt by not being included in the coworking gathering. I take it that this outing will probably be Friday...tomorrow night. I think it is truly harmless... as you stated he has been with the company for a long time and probably well liked. So just plan on a great night on Saturday. tuf2lose is right! Go do somthing with your girlfriends friday to take your mind off the night!
ruby
