I have completly read the Negotiating in Marriage articles and I can totally relate to the whole thing. However, my husband is trying everything he can to get us back to the intimacy part of our relationship, but I just can't do it myself. I don't feel like I love him any more and honestly can't see a future for us. We have two young children, but I don't want to use them as an excuse. Is there a way to get that love back and be happy? I'm not convinced of it.

Well, you married your husband for a reason-you were in love with him and wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. So, you two need to find whatever or whomever it was that brought you to the alter.
The children should be a key issue in your marriage right now. but you should not lose focus of you or your spouse's needs.
Read other threads, or talk to divorcees, and you will typically find that they are just as unhappy after the divorce than in the marriage. No one is perfect, you have to learn to adjust to your husbands flaws and appreciate him for the father he is.

Thank you, I read the article. However, I am not sure that this is what I want. I do not want to hurt him or the kids but I also don't want to remain unhappy for the rest of my life. I can totally related to the feeling of losing the love. I love him, but as a friend. I don't feel any intimacy between us either, not for his lack of trying. He has done everything possible to make me happy, but it doesn't seem to be enough any more. I'm lost here.

quote:
Originally posted by kam6318:
Have you read this article?
www.marriagebuilders.com/graphic/mbi8114_plan.html

It's really interesting to hear the other side. Try reading HNHN too. Maybe give him a copy. Try to figure out what you did when your relationship was working and happy and do that. Sounds simple, but figuring it out is sometimes hardest. I think what I want my husband to understand is that the magic or the in love feeling is only part of it. Don't abandon your marriage with a good man (assumption time??) becuase of this. True love is what happens after falling in love is over.
