My heart is breaking. I have a dream and a desire in my heart which I feel God has placed there. This is a dream which my husband doesn't share. I have thrown fits as I feel so called to do this. And he couldn't care less. After his "seeking advice from males he respects", he decided it would be best if we didn't discuss the issue for a year (beginning in April) because it was causing to many arguments. Maybe I'm being immature BUT I feel like I support him in EVERYTHING he does or wants to do, and do a damn good job of it too! Because of our Christian faith, he is the leader of our household and "chief tiebreaker" which means since he doesn't want to do it or even allow me to talk about my goal, we can't. Please help! I'm dying inside. I don't even understand the point of having dreams and goals as a female whose married and will never be able to choose to fulfill those dreams without her husband's consent. It is creating much bitterness and resentment within my heart and I don't know what to do. Today I can't even tell my husband I love him. I do. BUT I hate the fact that he's in control of me and the rest of my life that I have no ability to feel that love! I'm frustrated and heart broken beyond belief! Encouragement for Encouragement?

ok, Encouragment, I know your upset, and I think you have every right to be, except.... I beleive you are looking at this from the wrong perspective.
If God placed this in your heart it is to be done in His timing. Right? I have found the very best thing to do in these situations is pray. Pray that God will change your husbands heart, and that He will change your heart so it will be ready to do this work He has given you. My husband can be the same way but I found that prayer is the best way to get through the situation. You may not get your answer right away and God may not CHANGE your husband but He will work it out and you will be satisfied with the outcome.
I have just begun reading the book, "Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie O'Martin. It is awesome so far. I have seen this first hand and of course you know He will never let you down. I'll check back to see if you respond, I'd like to know how you feel about this post.
I'll pray too, H

RandysGirl, thanks for the reply. I know you're right but it's not that easy! It never is. He just pursues his dreams with such a passion, spendign hours reading and learning about them, that is crushes me to see his lack of enthusiasm for something that is so important to me. I don't even know how he can say he loves me and express such blatant disregard and disinterest for something that is so important to me. I've been praying for months and everything's fine and then there are days when I want to strangle him -- Usually the days when he spends hours planning for his dreams and I'm not even allowed to talk about mine. Thanks for the encouragement, E

encouragment, it never is easy submitting to authourity. it is our nature to want our own way. i promise if your patient, and diligent in your prayers, your husband will come around. it has been that way for me many, many times in our marriage. if i fight it and complain and struggle it just becomes a huge battle. if i stay silent and pray in time my husband comes around.( almost like you have to let it be his idea, then its a good one.) you can do it, just hang in there. god bless you, h
