My husband has retired from the military after 26 years and has taken a job 2 hours from our home. In our discussions, he would prove himself to his new boss, an old family friend, and after a few months be able to work from home. He was in marketing with the military and is in marketing with the new job. It's a perfect fit, except that I miss him like crazy! He has come home since he has started by saying it may take more than a few months before he can work from home, may be even a year to 3 years. I was sick! I have 2 teenagers from a previous marriage, he does not have any, and did not not want any more when we married 7 years ago. He's living with his parents, with whom he's extremely close. I always secretly thought it was a shame he couldn't marry his mother - he thinks she hung the moon. And maybe everyone should feel that way. Anyway, I get to do all the week-long stuff with it seems like no end in sight. After I told him that this was really hard on me, he came home at night, to leave at 5:00 the next morning so he could be home. I got my feelings hurt - if he's getting home at 7:30 pm and leaving at 5:00 am, what good does that do? It just makes me more resentful because he's leaving again. There aren't a lot of jobs around this part of Mississippi, and the job is a good fit for him. He still thinks, after yet another arguement, that around 3 more months he'll be able to work from home 2 days a week. It just feels like I'm not safe anymore & he's disregarding my feelings. there was definitely not an "Enthusiastic" yes, but I don't think I knew quite what this would entail. Any advice? I'm emotionally withdrawing & making it so he doesn't even WANT to come home, but I feel so frozen inside.
