Hi gang;
I wish to seek advice on the blended family. I currently have my own two children as you know, one is 15 and in high school and the other is 12 and in grade 7, I love them both every much and tell them that everytime I see them.The GF has three, the first two are from a previous relationship they are 9 and 7 while the other from the failed marrige is 5. My oldest daughter is OK with the GF and the youngest can't wait to see her sometimes. They both do not have respect for their mother cause she is never home and does not keep house. Basically they live alone,cleaning house, cooking meals for themselts,laundry and even the food shopping, while the mother only sleeps there alot of the times. The GF gives them the attention they like. She is more of a girlfreind to them then a future step-mother and the three of them like going girl shopping at the malls. They tell me they are planning to go to the hair dressers to get their hair streaked.The GF first is much like the mother in both personality and looks(clone?)She is very vocal at times to the point of being rude.Mama does not stand for that and deals out punishment as she feels appropriate. The other two are OK with me but the oldest is sometimes OK with me but other times she will not even speak to me. I find that this usually happens when the EX takes her for awhile. I feel that he maybe saying things to her about her mother or talking to others in her presence that are either negative towards her mother or is causing confusion within her. Anyways I how like to hear how you deal with problems of bringing everyone together as a family. I love these kids, I have looked after them in the past, changed the one's diaper,and have done activities with them (skating, soccer,walks,trips). I know I can't be their fatherno matter how mush I want to be but I feel I can be a better one anyways then they have had in the past eventhough its in action only rather in name. I don't what her eldest to hate me but I'm afraid he might be doing some to make it more difficult for us to bring things together in the future. She always told me he cared more about his own than the other two. You could see that by the way he lavish things on her and very little on the other two. INterested in what you have to say
