Hello everyone! I have just discovered this site and I love it. I am a 51 year old woman, and my fiance is 60. We have been living together for 2 weeks now. We have moved in for a number of reasons and the main one being fiancial. He is on a fixed income and moved here from another state. So living together made it possible for him to be here with me. We are celibate because we both agree that is right before God and scripturally sound. We both have fiancial problems that need to be resolved before we can marry as our combined income would only increase payments and tax problems which we cannot afford. I am working a full-time job and my fiance is retired. With that said, are we also doomed to a divorce because we live together??? We both are committed to learning the principles Mr. Harley has developed. So, until we have some fiancial issues squared away...we must remain as we are. We are christians and share the same values and morals which is what attracted us to each other. We appreciate your comments.

Hi psw,
Welcome to MB!
Keep in mind that there isn't a 100% divorce rate for people who live together before marriage...far from it. There are definitely risks and having discussed this issue here, I am far less pro-cohabitation than I was a couple of months ago.
I truly believe that if you are aware of those risks and potential pitfalls and work to overcome them, you have just as high a chance at marital success as anyone else. Of course, this also depends on the reasons why you are not marrying, yet. I have discovered some very important things about my BF by exploring these reasons.

I'm sure that there are people here with very different opinions about this, but I certainly don't think you are doomed for divorce, especially if you are both following the MB concepts.

Good luck!
Smile
