How do you get gum out of the dryer? My d must have left a whole pack in a pair of pants and now it is through out the dryer.
I haven't trained her or myself to empty the pockets. I just getting her to put them away! First things first!!!LOL
I have tried using a dryer sheet to "sand" it off, didn't work and have tried polish remover that didn't work too well either. I am trying to heat the dryer and tehn the polish remover, so if you hear a big boom, you will know this is no longer a problem.
Thanks !!!!

I've always heard tha peanut butter is good for getting gum out of a child's hair, so it might work for the dryer too.
Tulip

Tulip, that is what I was going to suggest.
I think it has to do with the oil in the peanut butter.
Let us know what does work. We all are not dealing with our rational selves and may one day do the same thing. Good to know a solution to one of our problems....Even it does not relate to our marriage. Peanut Butter will work... but try some veg oil first.... it's less messy. If you have an electric dryer, you can also use lighter fluid.... ONLY if you have and ELECTRIC dryer!!! If it's gas, you will hear the kaboom!!
And remember no matter what you use.... make sure to clean the dryer throughly before you put cloths in it.... windex & paper towles will usually get rid of the oily residue... but you might still want to dry something like towels the first time you run it after you get the gum out.
Good Luck! NO BOOM ! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I ran the dryer a little bit to get it warm and then used the nail polish on a orphaned sock and my finger nail to get it all off, except where it melted down in to the paddles(don't know what else to call them) that keep the clothes turning over.
I don't know how I manged to get two posts of this important topic !!!! I was going to suggest finger nail polish. Acetone is in nail polish. It'll eat through anything!
