I've posted on the other boards and now have moved over to this one. My wife and I have been separated now for over 5 weeks and now she wants a divorce and the only reason she can give me is that she no longer loves me and doesn't want to be with me any longer. When she first moved out she had been undecided because she didn't know what living on her own would be like but now she's convinced she'll be fine and doesn't believe there's a need to be married any longer. My question is this, does anyone think we may be jumping into divorce to soon? I mean if she is convinced she could never love me again (she did love me before) should I just let her go or should we give it more time and re-evaluate how she feels again in 6 months? I personally am still very much in love with her and I hate to do this, especially with the kids. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. One thing, I have managed to get her to agree to not file for divorce until after we've sold our home. Thanks again. Jax

I think the divorce at this point for you is rather quick, but then our first separation was a year and a half ago...there sounds to me as if there is at least some hope in your situation. Anytime one of the parties agrees to wait for any reason is an opportunity.<P>And quite honestly, having served the papers myself, I've found that I want to take more time and there are ways to slow the process--in my state uncontested divorce only takes 60 days, but can take years if no one does the paper work promptly or agreements can't be reached or you just decide not to proceed. I imagine states vary on that. <P>The feelings of love do ebb & flow. It is commitment that keeps marriages together. Our mess has gone on so long, I feel only residual love (you know, been together 20 years, memories of good times) for him and I don't trust him enough to try again. He in turn, had lost those "in love" feelings for me, but now says I have always been the love of his life. <P>Best wishes<P>------------------<BR>Lor<BR>"Let love be genuine...hold fast to what is good; love one another."
