On Sat as x was picking up the kids, I reminded her that the kids wanted to come home on Easter to go to church. She remembered!!! I asked her when did she want them back, right after church or later.
She said it didn't matter. I asked if she was planning a big dinner. She said no, she cooked a meal last night and would probably have hamburgers on the grill tonite so it didn't matter what time I brought them back ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/confused.gif) , after all this was her weekend. She didn't seem to care one way or the other.

Then today, I informed her I would be going out of town Tues-Thurs and had hired a young(too ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) ) woman to watch the kids those nites.
X acted like why was I calling her and bothering her about that. I thought she would squack about me not going out when she could watch the kids.
X also told my son she wouldn't buy him any more toy guns because it made me mad. I wasn't mad about the toys, it was the fact that he got something everytime he was with her. She conviently missed that point.
I hope I'm not doing that too, at least I say no every once in a while ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) .
------------------
"You can't always get what you want! Confusing indeed!
Sounds as if she is making excuses not to buy kids anything...I have been down this route with STBX as well.
OM may have had something to do with this..who knows what is going through their minds..it certainly is not thinking about you or the kids.
The issue about the gun...all she did was decide to put the ball back in your court...so you would have to explain to your son why "guns are a non no" even if this was not even the issue. Am I incorrect in seeing you being "blamed"?

Hi RWD -
Happy Easter!!!
Yes, still confused and brain bubbles everywhere!!!
You could really use this "gun" thing though...well, maybe - depends on why she is pulling it. If it is just about getting you to look bad then you could tell your son to get something that he really needs or would be educational or something....preferably an expensive item!!! Let's see if she comes up with that! (teehee!)
But it could also be her way of cutting down on the spending....you know, doesn't want to admit it so let's blame Dad....who knows!!!
What I am really interested in is this "young" girl of yours....LOLOL!!!
Is she...uhm.....reliable? (snicker, snicker!!)
What did you do after Church? Hope you had a good day - did you cook or visit?
BIG HUGS,
Sheba

Sheba,
I don't think I can even buy her a drink!!!
I think x's reason are to place blame on me as she has to know(I think !) that she is buying their affection, so if she has to quit, then she would blame me. Did you follow that?
I don't understand why she won't do anything but take them shopping. My d already asked me to take her to an indoor amusement park next weekend. They had 2.5 day to do that this week, but they went shopping instead.
Now I'll probably end up being the bad guy, as both kids have sports events on Sat and I'm going to see the Indians vs Red Sox on Sun(Go TRIBE!) so we be going.
I guess this is the fun(?) of divorce!
As for Easter, I didn't do anything. After church, i took the the kids for the traditional fast food meal and we came home. I wasn't expecting them to stay, so I had no food in the house. They stayed for an hour and then I dropped them off at their mother's. Boy that was uncomfortable. Om's car was out in the driveway but he was no where in site.
I went home and worked around the yard as it was semi-nice here. I cut the grass and edged the flower beds. I'm going out of town this week so I wanted to get this done.
I was invited to 3 places for dinner, but turned them down.
It was not that big of deal as I'm not big on holidays anyway. I do feel bad as I don't want my kids to see holidays as this way too. I guess I'll have to get more involved with the holidays so the kids can learn that they can be special.
How was your holiday???
Wilbok,
Yes, I think she is transfering the blame to me.
[This message has been edited by RWD (edited April 24, 2000).]
