Life can be so anti-climactic...<P>Divorce trial <I>(day 1)</I>...<BR>...I think you see where <I>this</I> is going...<BR>...could be long and drawn out. <P>Monday <I>(day 1)</I>...<P>My W's attorney and my attorney were on telephone standby... as was I.<BR>My W went to court (2 hour drive each way for her)... and talked with her attorney's stand-in on the phone.<P>Only the 1st of 5 trials will be heard today(Monday)...<BR>...ours was 3rd on the list.<P>...Now it is adjourned for the day! (if only permanently)<P>We will do the same thing Tuesday... i.e.<BR>-the judge might call us in to try and "settle"...("settling" won't happen)<BR>-adjourn the case... since W has no financial documents prepared(my hope)... or<BR>-start the trial(unlikely... but possible)<P>While all this lengthens the divorce process...<BR>...and raises legal costs...<BR>...and raises everyone's stress level...<BR>...it does make W (maybe OM) see some of the temporal consequences of infidelity/adultery!<P>But she's still missing the biggest cost...<BR>...the toll on the kids! <BR>(Of course the OM could care less about that...)<P>*********************************************<BR>Word just came in...
