Well all, I think that this is a great idea....
Why do you all not come to Canada where the US dollar is cheap. ...so Niagara Falls Ontario or Windsor are good border towns and of course for bigger city life come to Toronto.
Just give dates and lets get this going

Hey, I have the world's tightest budget and can't really afford to go anywhere. I personally, asd selfishly vote for Nashville, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Atlanta, someplace like that. But I imagine most of us are in the same boat. Oh, well.
[This message has been edited by cinderella (edited August 14, 2000).]

I would think that summer months are better since alot of us are now single parents and it would be tuff to do during the school year. Possibly our x's could take the kids so we could do this(oh, I must have hit my head to think that would happen!)

well,
if you all wouldn't mind my going, I would like to go. As a longtime lurker, more recent poster, I'm aware I know you all better than you know me.
I would suggest one of the resort type places off season? Where they drop the fares drastically to fill up planes? Seems like places like Orlando always have cheap fares, but everytime I try to book a flight to Minneapolis, I'm charged an arm and a leg. Or at least a major airline hub city...

Okey Dokey....
I myself would prefer summer or spring OR fall, and I agree with honey.west. Here is my idea, and YES I know it is in the midwest, but how about a trip to the Rockies in Colorado...rent out a couple condo's with 3-4 bedrooms big floor space and that way the cost is down for us all, there is a MAJOR airport in Denver for those that want to fly in.
I don't know maybe we're making this to hard! maybe someone should just say "I am planning this weekend as MB weekend, In tin-buck-two, USA and those of you that can make it this date let me know so we can book rooms!
I wish I could take a more active planning role, but I am thinking of a life change and move and so concentrating on that right now is enough, but I WOULD LOVE TO show up and add a little fun to the life of the weekend [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Count me in wherever, but lets try if we can to plan something near a decent airport so that those of us that can fly, can get a decent fare [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
There is more of Drew's 2-cents worth now...LOL
PS...honey.west...heck as far as I am concerned anyone can come...the more the merrier I say, will be nice to meet LOTS of people, those I know and those I don't quite know yet! Christmas time would stink. Money between now and then will be a fictional item.
I'll work to make plans. Is there anyone amongst us who's ever planned a meeting? I will need guidance. Trust me, I promise not to put together packets. I can hand out nametags though.
We'd need hotels, what kind of rates would be acceptable? We could try in town. We could try the suburbs. Hotels might run shuttle to/from airport. Or we could try something like a group lodge at state park. Or cabins. Would have to have rental van. I don't volunteer to drive that.
I still nominate Nashville because there is some stuff do do here. I'm a native so I don't recognize all of it. Do you want art, performing arts, country music (we have the Wildhorse Saloon which has allegedly appeared numerous times on tv), we also have countryside not too far away.
We have airport which used to run some int'l flights directly. We also have 3 interstate highways leading into downtown. 40, 24, and 65. They say that Nashville is within a one day drive of half of the US population. 1/2 million people or so here. January, February, and early March are the only months when we can usually expect any snow.
This past winter, though, we had virtually no snow.
