Wife and I spoke about my high need to be touched or to touch ( last night. I asked her if she had the same need and she responded by saying no I have just shut down.
This morning (she is always more open in AM)I asked her for a hug and she gave it to me! Then she broke down crying a little later when discussing her father ( alzheimers). She said I just keep thinking I can run to my Dad.
She then wanted a hug and I told her again that I was there for her and that I would help any way possible!
I don't want to read into this but she also wants to do something this evening (show/dinner. I have no expectations ( yeah right). I am just trying to be there!
She also asked me why I was now so open with my emotions when I was closed before. I explained my fear of expressing emotions due to concern that I would be seen as weak!
Macho crap! I have always had very deep feeling but have very seldom expressed them.
I am trying to go slow and not read into her behavior. What do you guys think?

[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Even if it goes as far as she starts things going.......I would even suggest to her that you don't think that it is a good idea.(I know, easier said than done!!!)Let her know that you want to but that you want her to know that she really needs to be ready to do this.(you don't want to push.)
You need to get her to trust you.......she needs to know that you love her,and are there for her but not just for the sex.Be nothing but a gentleman......Maybe just laying w/eachother and holding her, maybe just some kissing.

quote:
She also asked me why I was now so open with my emotions when I was closed before.
