Since my divorce May 1, I have had lazik surgery for my far-sightedness and will soon undergo another procedure very soon to correct the astigmatism. It feels so great to be able to see without glasses. My self-esteem is rising somewhat.
Also I am planning a trip to Austria in March. I have been quoted a fantastic rate through a friend that's in the local ski club.
Yes, I have spent some of my settlement money but am working full time and also have invested some. Even though I get depressed and angry, I am now able to look ahead.
Would you all care to have an old woman in your company if the weekend in Nashville takes place? I only live 5 hours away, so it's very possible I might show up. Although I don't post on here a lot, I do share some of your pain.
God bless you all!

Hi Gina. Please tell her that I will try to be there. I may leave on Friday and try to stay somewhere on the way. Then I can get up early on Saturday morning and go. Who knows? I may even fly.
Thanks.
Martha

Martha642
Noticed the thread and had to read a couple of things that caught my eye. Hope you are doing better each and every day. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) Each of us walks and heals on our path after we divorce. It is good to see that self-care is on your agenda and I appologize for jumping in on your thread but I have to know how the eye surgery went. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) I'm in eactly the same situation as you...step one the basic Lasik then another procedure for the astigmatism, ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/cool.gif) but I've heard the great stories and then the not so great where some people have the fog like haze after the procedure. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif) I go in two weeks for the first initial visit at the University Medical Center...tell me the real skinney...is it what you expected? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/confused.gif)
mrrlk
p.s.-You picking up your new BMW when you are in Bavaria?!!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)

I had the surgery on August 7. I had a haze the first day but could see to drive the next. Last week I noticed a brief period. Other than that I see very well.
I'm eagerly awaiting the second round so that I won't need these reading glasses. Good luck to you. I think the results will be overwhelmingly in your favor.
Martha

Martha,
Congratulations! I too went for the Lasik surgery, but there was a small problem, so I have to wait 6 months to be rechecked before they will do it.
Isn't it great to do wonderful things for yourself after all the poopy garbage you go through. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif) I have been doing quite a lot of traveling, shopping, and enjoying actually having money again... my X was a money pit.
I think, since there are more women going to Nashville than the guys.... we need to schedule a group spa time (a couple of hours) and get the works! We'll show those guys what a bunch of fantastic women we are... inside and out! We are women.... hear us roar!! LOL
I look forward to meeting everyone in Nashville... I'm going to go home tonight and dig out my cowboy boots! Yeee Haaaa!
Butterfly
