You wouldn't believe this. I just got a letter from my lawyer today, dated yesterday, that my pretrial date is Tuesday (1st day of school, no less). Called his office and got a message that he's on vacation, til Tuesday. I don't know what to do? I'm not prepared. I'm going to look like a fool.<P>My lawyer has not returned my calls in 2 months or more. I have nothing on paper with him yet as to what I need to be concerned about, what I'm asking for, and I don't what I can reasonably expect or even know what a pretrial is! I'm a homemaker and have "0" money which he said is ok, he intends to go after my STBX for it. But, that also means I'm stuck with him because I don't have money to get a new, better lawyer (this one is a friend of a friend, who is giving me a discounted rate) who keeps me up to date on stuff and makes me feel like I have nothing to worry about.<P>I am going to look like the biggest idiot and on top of that, my STBX's barracuda is a cut-throat and I'm going to lose everything. I am more scared right now than I've ever been in my whole life. I'm just waiting til after work hours so I can start calling people in my divorce group so maybe someone else can help me.<P>Does anyone here have any pearls of wisdom to throw my way.
