Talk about being a nervous wreck!!
I applied for a new position at work Monday and today my boss called me and told me that my interview is tomorrow at 1pm. OMG!! I wasn't expecting it to be so soon!! Usually it takes them a few weeks to do this stuff.
I don't know if I'll get it or not. I would like to because it means better hours and more pay ($2.50 an hour more!) I could really use the extra money. But I know the interview is going to be hard. It's a panel of 4 of my bosses asking me questions and I don't interview well. I get really nervous!!! Now's the time for really DEEP BREATHS!!
There are 3 positions open and I only know of 3 people who definately applied for them. If that's true, then I'll definately get one of the positions. If not, it just depends on how well the interview goes. I'm gonna be a wreck until I hear something!!!
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Congratulations,
relax, be yourself, and you have nothing to lose. You don't have the promotion so you can't loose it. Remember, be yourself, and the worst thing to be is not yourself, because if you aren't, then you are selected to something you aren't, and that's when the trouble starts.
just be yourself, you haven't lost anything, it is an opportunity to practice for the next promotional interview. You never know which promotion will be the best, this one or the next one.
Its all just practice towards being a better person.
thl

thl and Dana,
Thanks a bunch!! I know if it was meant to be, it will be. I just hate being put on the spot. It would be different if it was one on one. But I am much calmer now! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I'm trying to look at it from the perspective that I want the people who are best suited for the jobs to get them. I feel that I'm one of them and I just hope my bosses do, too!
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Too bad you can't type your answers - you come off so well on these posts.
I think its good you don't have much time to worry about it. And I share your dislike of panel interviews. More like an interrogation than a conversation. I went on one a few months ago, trembled the whole time, didn't know which person to look at, worried maybe I wasn't "sharing" eye contact enough. Not making you feel better, am I? So I will give you the best advice I got from a friend -
"Don't vomit, and keep the lipstick off your teeth" I'm sure your personality will come shining through...

Mitzi - relax. Be yourself. What else can you honestly be? It'll be ok. Breathe deeply. It'll be ok. Pray. It'll be ok.
I'll pray, too.
Ok, the interview went fine. It only lasted about 20 minutes too! YIPPEE!!
Only 5 people applied for 3 positions so I stand a decent chance of getting one. I should know this evening if I got one.
I'll let y'all know tonight!
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Ok, I thought I'd let ya know. I didn't get the new position. I found out this morning that 11 people applied for 3 positions.
My boss told me that my interview went really good, but the 3 that got the positions have been working there for 2 years or more. He also told me that if one of those 3 hadn't applied, I would have gotten one of the positions. They just have more experience than I do. BUT, by the end of the year, there should be 2 new houses opened and that means there will be another position just like the one I applied for.
So, I'll just try again then! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I'm not a quitter anymore! LOL
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Sorry it didn't go your way this time. At least you got interview practice and that never hurts. I have found that I get what I need when I need it so this must not be the time. Glad it went well and I trust it will work out.
Isn't it wonderful what we can learn to do?
I bet we've all come a long way.
Cinderella,
It's ok. It's just not time for me yet. Maybe it's good, because now I'll have time to get the experience I need. It'll happen when it's meant to be.
Hey! I replied to your new thread!
Mitz [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
