Trapped Mom,
It is a sickening feeling, but don't feel you are alone. I had two wild boys, and while I was really the only one that took care of them, to be alone doing it, and have complete responsibility, is a terrifying thought. I was unsure of decisions - just like that one - what if my baby is really sick? what if I screwed up and should have taken him to the emergency room? It hits hard in the middle of the night. Then you have the fearful gutwrenching thoughts - and during the day, as I was struggling trying to handle two energetic children as I did my errands and grocery shopping, I would get angry at him for making my already harried life, even more harried. Life is going to be that way for awhile, but it does settle down, you get into a new routine, and you do find the strength to do it alone. But it really stinks. I know.

Hi TM [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I know exactly how you feel. The only thing that is any consolation to me is that they will get older and be less dependent. My oldest son is 8 and is very helpful to me. They have little jobs they do that help me. I guess I'm lucky because my boys are pretty calm kids. They're not at all tear-up-the-house kind of boys (like some of my really good neighbor mom friends have!). When the girls get a little bigger it'll be easier. Still not fair and still really stinks what their lives have become because of a selfish woman who decides she has the right to interfere in your family and doesn't care who she destroys, and that doesn't let H off the hook either. However, if she wasn't there, H would have more likely dealt with his responsibilities than escaped them.
No words of wisdom here really. I remember one time when my little guy told me (on a weekend day) his throat hurt and he couldn't swallow. I looked with a flashlight and saw big white icky sores on his throat, a lot of them - took him to urgent care. They ended up being canker sores of all things so they couldn't do anything for it except give me a spray to kill the pain. I didn't know, it could have been strep or something. My H had the audacity to yell at me for creating unnecessary doctor bills for him to pay for! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] WHAT A JERK! I'm telling you, that was one day I could have sooflexxed (sp?) him to the floor and punched her in the nose.
Anyway, you get my meaning. Hope she's ok. Talk to ya,

------------------
Kathy
[This message has been edited by weirded out (edited September 25, 2000).]
