For all of us:
The Beatitudes
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-------------------------
May God shine down his love and comfort in these times of despair in our lives.
God Bless.

I really believe that is true. Hard to remember when things look so much better for the ex in the short term.

Have you ever noticed how the Beatitudes are progressive?
You must be poor in spirit before you can mourn.
You must mourn before you can be meek.
You must be meek before you can hunger & thirst.
YOu must hunger and thirst before you can be merciful.
You must be merciful before you can be pure in heart.
You must be pure in heart before you can be a peacemaker.
You must be a peacemaker before you can obviously be a son of God.
And even then, people will give you a hard way to go.
So, it is a progression. You start at the bottom and work your way up as you grow in strength and health.
Cinderella,
One of those times you just want to slap your forehead, I honestly, had not been taught that, nor had I figured it out on my own. But is sure explains why it is so comforting reading them, and why it makes "imperfection" ok, and striving to become better an achievable goal.
Thanks!
