I have heard that mid-life is very similar to adolescence. A term that I heard used to describe it that sounds more accurate than mid-life is "mid-olescence".
As someone who's going through MLC, I can say that it FEELS the same as adolescence. Many of the same issues come up - identity, belonging, what do I want to be when I grow up.... Everything gets re-evaluated.

H I H & T S,
I can relate to that. My 42 yr. old wife is listening to Deep Purple "Machine Head", Aerosmith, and others she used to listen to on the way to HS.
In the past 5 years, she began to drink new and better beers, IMHO (like Pete's, Grolsch, local microbrews). Now she will only drink Budweiser.
There return to youth is oh so complete in oh so many ways. The only difference is now she drives a Mercedes.
Jay
[This message has been edited by catamount82 (edited October 10, 2000).]
