Interesting thing these fortune cookies…….
About a week after my wife dropped her bomb about the divorce, I had Chinese for lunch and received the following words of wisdom in my fortune cookie: “Prepare yourself for a big change of events in your personal life.” Today I had Chinese again and received this message, “Your mate in life will bring you luck and be your guiding star.”
Maybe things are looking up [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

------------------
JH93

The fortune cookie I received right before my husband and I started to really get into all of this said:
"You and your wife will have a happy life together."
Last time I checked, I was female... That was this morning. Last I knew my husband was male. Is this telling me something about me that I don't know as of yet? Or is this telling me where I went wrong? Hmmmm.... Something to think about.
-Java

Java.... You crack me up!
One of my recent fortune cookies (I eat a lot of Chinese) said something like...
If a door is closed, look for a window, not just another door.... or maybe it was If opportunity is knocking, but is not at your door, check the window.
My all time favorite was the one I got just after I moved out....
"Life is what you make it, so make it happy,"
B

JH93,
If she doesn't bring you luck, maybe you need to be on the lookout for some guy from Australia who looks lucky and seems to know where he's going. ROTFLMFAO!! Mate, get it?!?

------------------
I am in this situation for a very good reason, it just took time to get over my own self-pity and understand why.

You have an "ugly" secret admirer? That's too funny. I haven't had a fortune cookie in a long time...think I'll get one at work.
Catamount82...I'm Cancer, too, and that's what my X would say probably. He was the one to admit our relationship was toxic. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Java,
Maybe it just means that the fortune gods had a little too much saki and not enough java that night!
Speaking of which, are you fan of iced coffee? If so, a friend gave me the following recipe and I'm addicted. It does require a cappucino machine though.
2 servings coffee
2 tablespoons of sweetend condensed milk
1 shot Kaluha
Pour over a glass of ice and stir.
MMMMMMMM.....I think I need to go make one myself now!

------------------
JH93
[This message has been edited by Jayhawk 93 (edited October 16, 2000).]

That's too much work. I figure Captain Morgan's or Jim Beam, straight 'outta 'da bottle. I'm doing all the dishes now, so why create extra work for myself? Besides, I may be lazy, but I can at least put the cap back on.
------------------
I am in this situation for a very good reason, it just took time to get over my own self-pity and understand why.

JH93 -
Believe it or not, I more of a coke in the bottle type of person for my caffine fix. Bet you never would have guessed that by my name. But I may just have to try your recipe. It does sound good!
Intresting topic that you brought up. Thanks for bringing a MUCH NEEDED smile to my face today!
-Java

Still Praying,
Now I know why you're having trouble adjusting to the Paxil. Didn't your Doc tell you not to mix that with the 'sauce'? I advise to watch that as I have learned by experience that beer and Paxil makes Jayhawk a tired boy!
Java,
I'm a Diet Coke junkie by nature, about 4 per day. Sometimes a little less in the winter months.

Know what, I bought some fortune cookies for my kids for school snacks (something fun for them to be envied by all the other kids). The first one I opened said, You're lover will never wish to leave you. Right! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I very purposely never read horoscopes or deal with any of that kind of stuff. I just thought that was a LITTLE off. Maybe it means some other lover way later in life (fat chance).
------------------

Kathy

JH93,
Actually, I don't drink that much, probably a good thing, given my sitch 'eation, and I haven't since I started 'em.
'Tell you what though, don't know if it's the meds or a mental adjustment, and don't really care, but today was the best day that I had in months. Felt on top of the world, (was standing on a small globe), but I have all kinds of energy, mentally quick, sense of humors back, didn't really think about her at all today, which in itself is peculiar, can't wait to work tomorrow, tanned, (not a funny boy, see your thread about getting to bed at night, <-hell, in that much space I 'coulda just told 'ya), went to the gym, (that was embarrassing, used to bench 250, stopped @ 90 tonight, felt like a MAN!), weighed in @ 146.5 lbs., down from 170 in June, ate a big meal, then spent some "qualiy time" in the "library", (it's a guy thing to talk about it ladies, and it must have been a man that created cordless phones, sometimes my dad and I will carry on a conversation while each in our respective libraries, although I'm more adept and never have to put the phone down, ever been talking on the phone and heard the toilet flush when you weren't expecting it?, catches most people off guard, let me tell 'ya, they're like, "what was that"? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] ), so that's pretty much it from here, except for these run-on sentences, I'll be interested in how I'll feel tomorrow, hopefully the same, but I may be in the dumps, no pun intended, but seriously, I think it's because I've told myself that I can't contact her until next week, so I've accepted it for what it is and decided not to keep myself down until then, I can't change it before then, so I may as well enjoy life, whaddayou think?
------------------
I am in this situation for a very good reason, it just took time to get over my own self-pity and understand why.

SP,
Funny you mention your cordless phone while in the library. I work in a corporate office which is very laid back for the corporate world and had a funny thing happen a few weeks back. I had to stop into our 'library' and while doing my own reading, I heard a cell phone ring from a few stalls down. The owner of the phone answers the phone and proceeds to conduct business while 'doing his business', slacks around his ankles and all. Trying not to laugh, I was really appalled that he was talking shop where he was. At one point he told his client to hold on for a second, then proceeded to get up and get dressed. Obviously he couldn't leave the stall w/o causing a flushing sound so he continued to talk from behind the wall. I too was ready to make my exit, but was patiently waiting as to keep his call professional. It's important to know that this man on his cell phone is somewhat of a jerk and a real pain in the a$$. After a few more minutes I was tired of waiting and my window of opportunity arose...I heard him say that he wasn't at his desk and would have to call back. Hearing this I FLUSHED, tagged two more urinals on my way out and high tailed it to another 'library' to wash my hands [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
The man never knew it was me, but what did he expect for talking shop on the throne! He was laid off about 3 weeks later [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I hope this call didn't contribute to that!
As far as you going to the 'fake-n-bake' don't sweat it. I have thought about going myself because I have lost some of my summer color and it will probably do me good. Besides, there are always good looking tanned women up there [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
JH93

JH93,
That's hilarious. One for around the water coolers.
I hate tanning. Gets hot, and you end up with that funky smell. What is that smell, anyway? Burnt flesh? I'm just doing it so that my step-daughter, stylist at this salon, may "accidentally" mention it to my wife, just to get her thinkin' a little.
Had a nice chat with my S-D, telling her what a great mood I was in, etc., what I was doing. This will either work, or burn me, (not the tanning), as my W will either realize that she needs to do some thinking, or determine that I've lost interest and file. We'll see.
