Well,
big hugs to you all, and I hope you all have a nice day. (I thought I'd get that in early, coz I just re-read this post, and it's a downer!!!)
today's Wednesday, by this time next week I'll be officially divorced. I almost can't breathe just thinking that.
I never ever thought it would come to this. I really did think he would come back. We had so much going for us.
We had a chat 2 nights ago, after a huge arguement on the phone about the children. He was at my house babysitting, and when I walked in after work, I just gave him a hug. We chatted about co-parenting effectively, and he has agreed to go to counselling so we can do that effectively. At least that's a start. He also asked about the court appearance. He asked whether I was going. I replied that I HAD to. I asked whether he was going to attend. He said he didn't want to, and he had the saddest look on his face. I replied that I didn't want to go either, but I had no choice. Then he left.
I still believe with all my heart that he does not want this divorce. He is not happy with his life as it stands now. But how long do I let myself ride this rollercoaster. He has shown absolutely no sign of wanting to come home. He has told me that he is happy with his life as it is now. I guess I just have to believe him. But he never seems happy.
I went through the agonies of "do I, don't I" about a month ago. I was so close to ringing my solicitor and telling her to hold off on the divorce. Then he started spending so much time with his new girlfriend and my children, playing happy families, introducing her to his family and our friends etc etc etc.
I just told myself to read the writing on the wall. It's over.
I think by this time next week I'll have a raging hang-over, but at least I won't be on the rollercoaster any longer.
thanks for listening
big hugs to you all, and hope you all have a nice day
Jo

{{{Jo}}}
Understand where you are at perfectly. This whole process really bites the big one, whether the writing was on the wall or not, it's just difficult. I think of everyone in this D/D board all the time, a wonderful feeling group who certainly don't deserve the pain that causes us to be here.
Keep your chin up and a prayer in your heart; it's said there is ALWAYS a reason, it's just finding it that makes things harder.
Lori
