Well , I found out yesterday , No Brain Tumor !!!! It turns out that it is some sort of fungal infection called occular histoplasmosios which was caused by the thyroid disease I suffer. Because my immune system has been so comprimised because of the tyroid . I have contracted a fungal infection ( now thats a turn-on to the women huh ) that scarred my eyes and left all the blind spots. Apparently this is stress related also as most healthy people have benn in contact with this fungus , but it only effects people with auto immune problems.....This is the same thing that almost killed Bob Dylan a few years back ( now that would have been a loss , who would mumble incohearently on music specials )and it looks like I'll be okay ! I have to see a specialist about restoring my vision. But as long as my hormone levels stay regulated. I'll be a " non mood swinging , healthy , non-blind hunk of burning love....." Now if all of this would just go away for a month........Love you all Gary

Glad to hear you have a brain. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) I'm afraid that if I got a brain scan, it'd come out negative ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Anyhow I'm happy there was no tumor.
------------------
nick
it's only time that heals the pain and makes the sun come out again

Yeah! Thank God! I'm so happy to hear this, I'm doing a happy spin at my desk!
This is great. So if you can get the thyroid regulated and do something your doc says for your eyes, you should be okay? Well, you know what I mean--healthy? Yeah!!!!
BTW, that's cute, "non mood swinging , healthy , non-blind hunka hunka burning love....."
Congratulations, Gary! I think a celebration is in order.
CJ
------------------
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Great News! Love your sense of humor! I agree, how could we enjoy anymore music award shows without the presence of Mr. Mumbler, Bob Dylan. Didn't he almost lose his nose from his frequent cocaine use? Yes if only our brain could just take over our hearts and tell it - "Stop hurting - forget about it!". What is really scary is that some people can do this. My STBXH went away by himself for a weekend, got "closure" on our 12 yr marriage and moved on with his life. My take is that he really does not care a bit about what I am doing or not doing. He has just emotionally "shut the door" on me and only thinks about first - Himself and then secondly - his OW/fiancee. Our daughter gets squeezed into his picture after the first two.

Hey Gary,
So happy to hear you have a brain! Really proud of you, but then, I always did have great faith in you.
Listen, how about checking the files for high school and college diplomas? Why, you may not only have a brain, there is a good chance you have a piece of paper to prove it too! The lesson of Oz to the scarecrow!
On the serious side, it must be a great sense of relief just to know that what is ailing is treatable. The symptoms you are talking about would have left most of us hanging on for dear life to a certain portion of the anatomy. Hope you are feeling better both physically and emotionally.
It's not surprising that you would mention Bob Dylan. The greatest single threat to his health and welfare was Bob Dylan. He is a text book example of the need to self destruct that so often accompanies true genius.
Bumper

Thanks to all my pals ( I think..)
Well it turns out that I have to wear a eyepatch for a while to try to fool my brain into thinking its okay to have a blind spot , as my eye should adjust . Surgery may be required and I will find out after Christmas. Thank all of you guys for your kind words , aside from my Daughters encouragement you have really been the light of my days evenings and early mornings. I think the " chicks " will dig the Bluebeard the pirate look with this eyepatch....don't spin in your desk too much you could get hurt.....hhahahahhahahh and with the risk of sounding like " Alan Alda "....Love you all
Gary........

Dude,
Yes it is. I work for the Bureau of Land Management. However, at this time, I do not know exactly who my boss is (haha). I vote for George Gore!
CJ
------------------
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Doing a Happy Dance for Gary!!!!!
When you go to the doctor with something pestering you, do you want them to find something or not? It's always nice to know what's going on but it's better if it's treatable. So, many congratulations.
Got a physical myself the other day. I have a body (and it weighs 9 pounds less than the last time they weighed it!!). I have blood too, or did till they took 4 vials of it. Don't expect any bad news. Got a divorce and got away from almost having tachycardia. That's good, I suppose. The heart rhythm smoothing out with less stress in my life is good. The near-tachycardia wasn't. I think the divorce is good. The x is better as an x as he was a non-x.

Again thanks to all my dysfunctional friends
hehehehheheh Well one good thing that has come out of this whole marriage meltdown is that my 17 year old has really connected with me over the past couple of weeks , Its amazing just a month ago she HATED me and now , it seems like we have become best buds. Why is that you ask ? It's because she vented , told me EXACTLY what I was doing wrong to hurt her , and I developed a plan to stop my actions....Had this have been her Mother she would hold it inside , distance herself from all talk of a problem , and BOMB me ten years from now....That is one smart kid , She could teach her Mom alot.....

------------------
Yesterday is history , tommorrows a mystery , and the present is a gift , thats why its a present

Boy, you are just full of good news today. I know somedays it seems like the world is falling apart, but then there are days like today that make it all bearable.
I'm proud of your daughter. What a brave girl. And I'm proud of you too for working it out with her and making a plan to stop hurting her.
CJ
------------------
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

That may be better news than finding out that you do have a healthy brain. Children are such lovable pains in the neck!
Somedays you'd give them away for nothing and somedays there's nothing you'd take for them.
You won't have teeth if you have man boobs--they'll fall out every other one. Ha ha ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)
Gary, they have a new contraption for man boobs now. It's called a mansier. Or is it a Bro? Oh well, some of the best department stores in New York carry them--haven't you ever watched Seinfeld?
You know what? I couldn't care less if you have teeth, eyes, or boobs. You have a brain and no tumor, and you have a thyroid thing you can help with medication. Yeah! Who cares about the rest? Get dentures, a glass eye and size XXXL shirts, and everything will be fine!
![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)

CJ
P.S. It's the wooden leg that scares me.

------------------
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Gary,
I was just lurking here. Thank God for the non-brain tumor. But Ocular Histo needs to be treated by a retinal specialist, immediately. My H had it 20 years ago and it had to be treated asap with laser surgery to stop bleeding. BTW, I'm guessing you live around the midwest in the river valley region, that's where histo spores are most common.
Please see a retinal specialist today. Vision loss increases with each day of bleeding of the blood vessels.

God Bless
SheRa
