Hi friends,
Today I have been here for a year. A year ago today, I was just waking up to the fact that my husband really did leave me on xmas day. I suspected an affair but wasn't postive. Four days later it was confirmed.
Its been a long year with many events that I can't believe I made it thru and I know a lot of my strength came from my good friends here.
Life for me, one year later, is unbelievable. I have found love again, I have learned a lot about love, relationships and life and I have someone who is willing to do what it takes to learn to communicate and meet all of my needs.
If I didn't know this site, I wouldn't know that it was OK for me to have needs and to expect them to be met. Its OK to have different needs, as long as you understand them, and I know first hand, how sharing recreational hobbies is very important.
I know what went wrong in my marraige. I know it was meant to be over. I know that I have a long road ahead of me as my new life begins this year.
Thank you to all my friends who supported me thru my ex leaving on xmas, my getting D papers on Valentine's day, all the horrible court dates, the divorce, and even better the prayers for my daughter when she was so sick last summer.
My life is forever changed by the circumstances of the betrayal and affair, but I now understand it and accept it.
Hugs to all of my friends here,
Dana
(formerly lonelymom)
That's great news. Time heals, along with the fact that you worked on yourself and getting your life back in order. Hey, don't forget to let us know how the meeting with "his" kids go. Did you ever decide if you were going to meet the ex first or not? You can e-mail me if you'd like. Good luck.

Dana,
I think you just lifted me out of my funk....... (refer to my post!!)
It's wonderful to read about stories like yours. It's great to hear that happy endings do happen, happy endings that are so deserved.
What a relationship you will have. You will take all that you have learnt from here, combined with all that you have learnt about yourself. And you deserve every single minute of that joy. You can only go onwards and upwards from here.
love and hugs to you
Jo
