... for the day.
Yesterday, I stayed home from work with d as we have both felt puny and had only slightly elevated temperature - though not enough to consider a fever. At 10 a.m., son's school called saying he felt bad. Picked him up. Got him home. And he gave me back everything he had eaten that morning. GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
When he gave back his lunch, I knew we were introuble. I get paid by the hour - Monday was a holiday and Thursday I was home with assorted cruds from assorted people. Couldn't stay home another day.
I called x and told him I had to go to work for financial reasons and because I am plans A, B, and C for what I do. And there would be 350+ people expecting my job to be done come Sunday morning.
Last night was x's "during the week" evening with the children. I let them to, and spend the night. X took the day off to stay home with sick child. He gets plenty of sick and vacation time and I haven't done this in 5 years.
This afternoon, d's school called. She threw up too. I took her to her daddy's where they are spending the night. It is his turn, after all.
I was so proud of myself for telling this lardbucket (you should see his before the separation pictures and his pictures now) what I needed.
I know this is a gross story but it is a victory for me. Of more than one kind.
I've finished up - a long time ago. Playing on the net. Playing by yourself is sometimes good, sometimes not. Tonight it's not.

And what would you have done if he'd refused to take them? The non-custodial parent has all the privileges and none of the responsibilities of parenthood. They can just say no, I don't want to, or I won't be home, and there is not a d*** thing you can do about it.

Cinderella,
Your post scared me by the title at first! I almost choked on my salt and vinegar potato chips!
I know what you mean about the victory. My ex is taking the girls 4 hours early so I can take a class and go out of town for the night. Amazing, that he would do that for me, after all we've been thru, but he and I are getting back to that original friendship we once shared.
He actually calls once in a while with no reason, not that I care to talk but its good for the sake of the kids I think.
Feel better!
Dana
