The Ink hasn't even dried on the papers.<P>I get home early to go play some racquetball.. I check the mail and there is a and there is a single ad in a letter to me wanting me to date again.. Its got a questioaire and everything.<P>These guys hover down at the court and wait for somebody to file.. Holy Cr#p. This ain't right.<BR>

It's just a mailing list, created by a mailing-list service. The dating service may not even know how the "hot dating service prospects" list is assembled because the list maker may keep it a trade secret (but if they've been in the business a while they've undoubtedly figured it out).<P>Have a baby? You'll get a lot of mail offering baby stuff.<P>Buy a car? You'll get a lot of junk mail related to that.<P>Get a DUI? You'll get a lot of DUI attorney solicitations. <P>Die? The junk mail to you may be cut down a little, but your loved ones .... they'll get plenty.

Heard something interesting to do with all that junk mail, particularly those credit card applications: often they include no postage required envelopes. Seal the envelope (empty) and mail it back. Make them open their own useless junk. Won't solve anything, but it costs nothing and it sometimes feels good to annoy some bean counter somewhere.

I have to confess. I once worked for a really scummy man. One day, when I was really steamed at him, I sent one of the dating questionnaires back with his name on it. Maybe it wasn't the nicest thing I ever did, but it felt good for a few minutes.
