Friends, I have a few prayer requests myself - all health related.
My friend Ed, who had the heart surgery, was home and had a stroke and went back into the hospital. He's been up and down since then. Ed and his wife, Bunny, have been invaluable to me over the last few years.
My uncle, Woody, is having hart valve surgery tomorrow. The doctor tells him he is not a good candidate for the procedure but the alternative is death. To complicate this, my mother owns the land he and his family farm and I know that she will end up with a lot of responsibility from this and she is not well emotionally - having lost the love of her life a year ago and having no use for my uncle's wife. So, actually I'm more worried about my mother than my uncle.
And, least significantly, everyone at my house is in some stage of a cold. If it were possible to dehydrate from sneezing and nose blowing, my son and I would be dehydrated already. I feel so yucky and can tell that, bar antibiotics, this thing could live in my chest for weeks. And this weekend is the big shindig. What lousy timing.

Sue - I do have a humidifier. Have two for that matter. Have been running both of them at night. Problem is, if the house gets too humid, mold count goes up and that's a problem for me, too.
Allergist's office wants me to get sicker before the call in the antibiotics. Doesn't matter that I've felt this coming for a week and that the cough feels like the long lasting kind.
I CAN'T be sick this weekend.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Its hard when things are going bad and then things get worse. My stbx's grandma told me it always gets worst before it gets better. Maybe this is the worst. Hugs and Blessings to you and your family and friends.

We're all still alive but keep praying!!
If yesterday had been the day for me to be assigned a Native American name it would have been "Sick As Two Dogs". Respiratory viruses are no fun. Especially not when you run a fever of 102. And you have children to deal with. Bless his heart, my son loved his poptart breakfast - rare for a school day. Had to call x yesterday morning and tell him I was too sick to drive the children to school. And he came through - even took care of their lunches.
My son had this over the weekend. My daughter seems like she's coming down with it. It's not good at my house.
My uncle survived his surgery which is a good sign. That much was not certain. But he is not out of the woods by any means.
My friend has a bunch of problems. Don't know how his heart is doing - and that is what started all this. He has fluid on one lung so he's using only the other one. They are going to try to drain the fluid in the next day or so. Then he has prostate problems which they can't deal with until the rest is dealt with. So, he's not doing well.

My uncle is out of the hospital and doing surprisingly well. He is staying at my mom's house for some reason.
My friend Ed is still in the hospital. He is very weak and Bunny, his wife, is very tired. He was supposed to go home yesterday however things did not work and he couldn't go.
As for me, the respiratory virus ended up getting both children and me. I have been, far and away, the sickest. Saturday morning, from my hotel room, I had to call the doctor and get a prescription called in. I will survive but I'm not well yet. At least I am not contagious. The children, however, bounced back pretty well.
The uncle is doing surprisingly well [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Ed is finally out of the hospital. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] They nearly kept him another day or two because his wife is too tired to take care of him.
The allergist maintains I AM still contagious. Still won't do anything about it but the internist will. Finally got more appropriate medicine. Think I'm turning the corner. But I'm so tired of coughing. Those chilren may start cooking a bit more.
So, keep praying for all three of us.
