I got three items of mail today. My paycheck statement was supposed to arrive, but it didn't.
Instead, I got a notice that my petition for conciliation had been denied.
Also, I got a notice that my wife's lawyer filed for a continuance of the hearing I had requested for adjustment of temporary spousal support. This presumably means that I will continue to be bled at an unsustainable rate, and nothing I can do about it. I am really having trouble distinguishing the court system from hired "muscle" at this point. Justice may be blind, but this court system seems to take delight in doing everything it can to destroy me. All this legal stuff feels like a conspiracy conducted behind closed doors. I have yet to be allowed into a courtroom or conference room, and it's hard to believe now that I once was naive enough to think I would have an opportunity to present my case.
Oh, and finally, I got a collection notice. That at least is not all bad, since maybe the collection agency can find a way to get my insurance company billed properly. The medical establishment submitting the bill seems incapable of such a feat.
Sorry, just venting. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

GDP,
Sorry you are having such a crappy day. I know what you mean about the medical establishment.
When my d broke her leg 8 yrs ago I fought with the HMO for a year trying to make them understand it should have been covered.
I followed my family dr's rec to use a orthapedic-pediatrician that wasn't in network.
I couldn't get anyone to understand I was following the dr's rec. Finally someone said "oh, yea, that should be covered" and that was the ned of my problem. Except her final Dr visit was in the following year, so they denied the bill because they didn't have any paperwork on the injury. Good thing they weren't a local company!!!
Hang in, your pay check will be tommorrow!
Bob

Hi GDP,
I just realised what your initials stand for!!! What a hoot in light of your post!!
What's YOUR GDP?????? Mine is exactly 0. Or should I say it's the same as a forth world nation, with no natural resources.......
I sometimes feel worthless and useless, but I know I'm not. You're not either......
Hang in there, it can only get better. I've been through stages where I've had no money, just enough milk and bread for the next day, and in that days' mail I got the telephone bill, electricity bill, lawyers bill, rates notice, and a speeding fine!!!!!!!!!
I just looked at them all and laughed. and thought to myself, well, sue me!!!!!!! That would have to be my record for the most bills in one day, with not a cent to my name.
But, the money came in, the bills were paid, my children were fed and I felt great that I accomplished it all on my own.
You'll feel great too, soon.
I too sometimes wonder at the injustice of all of this. My ex-h has made himself out to be the victim in all of this. NONE of this is his fault!!!! Oh well, just another log to put on my big broad shoulders.......
We will survive, and we will be better people for it. I firmly believe that.
Know that your days will be brighter, and you will laugh again.
big hugs to you
Jo

Gnome,
I am sorry. I know I am just beginning to go through all of this but I know how hard it is. I have gotten several collection notices because all of the bills are in my name. I try to think..."Is it really that important?" Of course, it bills and credit is important but things could be worse. We have to find things to be grateful for even if it is something as simple as the weather was nice that day or the fact that you are alive.
I know what you mean about the medical establishment. I have bills from my daughter's pediatrician coming to me at least every other month. It is quite frustrating but it will eventually get worked out.
I hope you have a better day tomorrow (I mean today since it is 4:15am).
