I thought I was "over" my x, until last night . She and om/h were at my daughter's basketball game and x was hanging on him.
I felt the old knife I thought was gone twisting in my heart.
Then tonite I called her to discuss something concerning our daugher and she said her and om/h had discussed it too. Why does he have any input?????
I know why, he's her husband and he raised 3 kids, blah, blah, blah, blah.............
Damn, just when I thought I was doing good!!!!!!

RWD,
You ARE doing good! It is natural to miss the interest and love of another human being, especially if it's someone you were married to for a while! You are just having a lonely day. The funny thing is, I bet if you really thought about it, it's not so much your X that you miss, but the comforting feeling of having someone around, someone to share life with, someone to talk with.
Here's a cyber hug to help you feel better, and just know in your heart that we are all here for ya!
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{RWD}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

CJ
------------------
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

I don't know if I will ever really be comfortable seeing my x with someone else. I know some people say they could care less but not me. I haven't seen him with someone else. I've only heard about him dating now and then from the kids. And, I don't like it even though I am dating. I think it is strange how comfortable he is with my dating. Sometimes, he seems too happy about it. I'm hoping that it will not bother me over time but I don't think I will ever get to the point where it doesn't bother me somewhat.
Hang in There. I think you are just on the downside of the roller coaster right now. You'll be up again soon.
[This message has been edited by 711 (edited March 02, 2001).]

Bob - I know what you mean. As much as I would have liked to have the relationship restored, I wouldn't want the man I was married to. Not for anything.
It is the closeness (although I'm not sure how much of that we really had), the relationship, the relative wholeness of the family, the companionship that bring back those feelings like what you describe.
Things will swing the other way soon. Hang in there.
((((((((((((((((((Bob))))))))))))))))))
-Jane-Elise

Bob,
My ex was not the affectionate type one bit, so I have never had to witness that. I can imagine you would be bothered, its normal. My ex did call me while they were having sex, does that count? GRRRR!!!
Anyhow, I'm curious, was she hanging on you when you guys were married? Maybe its something her and her new Hubby are doing to get over their own issues of being around you?
I am very affectionate with the person I'm seeing but not in front of my ex, out of respect, but I don't know why I bother, he still is on a mission to hurt me and he's now engaged!!
Hang in there, your time will come! Hugs, Dana
