Well, I've only been in here a couple of weeks to a month and yet I feel like somehow I am understanding you all. Have you guys ever met up with each other? If you do, how is it? Seems like it would be awkward... there's some comfort in the anonymity of this whole thing...
I mean like ex-Pres Clinton could be surfin' in here... can you imagine if he showed up at a gathering?
------------------
Freedom is doing what you like - Happiness is liking what you do.

OC,
Yep! Some of us have actually met in person. There was a get together in January in Nashville and I think 5 people were there. We're also talking about meeting in VA beach in June.
Personally I've met 2 other MB'ers. And it wasn't really awkward at all! There's about 5 minutes at first that is a little uncomfortable but then it's like you've known them forever!! I've also talked to several on the phone. I really feel like they're my family!
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

I'm the one who put together the Nashville meeting. It was great. No problems. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. So, if Virginia Beach is a problem for anyone, let me know. I know a hotel with a great hot tub.

Well, been thinking about this and I'll throw my hat in the ring.
How about something after the first of the year on the West Coast? I'm in San Diego, and would be willing to do some organizing. My son works for a major hotel chain and may be able to get us a break on the rooms, depending on how many people show. The hotel he works at is right on the bay.
So let's bounce this one about for awhile and see.

I was in Nashville... it was GREAT! And, I'm going to VA Beach in June too. I also took part of my vacation last year and met a couple of people from here that live in the Seattle area (Murphy and RCoaster). WHAT A BLAST! And also one guy who lives very close to me here (Jax).
I'm still waiting to catch up with a few other posters to meet... You know who you are!
GrandpaBri.... I would love to come back out to CA after the first of the year. I've never been down the SD way, and it sounds like fun to me. I usually get out to LA a few times a year to visit friends there, so a detour south would be no problem.
I've never met an MB poster that I didn't get along with... I've always had a great time, and hope to keep meeting folks until I meet everyone!
Smooches to all,
B

I have met 5 of the MB members, and keep in touch with a few on a regular basis. sometimes, i wish we lived closer together so that when one is having a hard day, we can all go over to his/her house and give them a real hug and pep talk.
And before meeting them, i have talked on the phone with several, and given them pep talks when needed, helping them out as I can, with computers, job search, finances, taxes, etc. its actually the good power of the internet when it does happen.
you can see the pictures of the 5 of us, and more of us on butterfly's web sites. we are real!
wiftty
although our screen names don't do us justice! and the accents, new england, southern, mid western, ozstralian, doesn't come through until you actually talk!
Tom,
It's funny you mentioned different accents!! I'm from WV (yes! I'm the only one on the boards from WV! LOL) and have been given a hard time about my accent by a couple of MB'ers! (And you know who you are! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] ) It is really great to meet everyone though!
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Keep in mind that Nashville is within a one day drive of 50% (or more) of the U.S. population. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] And we do have an airport where they can, when scheduled ahead of time, land the Concorde. I say this because they have done it. Hey, they even landed a space shuttle on it's transport at an army base 30 miles from here.
Also, remember that I know where there is a hotel with a hot tub (indoors) which will seat 12 or 15. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
And we have LASER TAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tom,
Ok now! Yes the roads are paved in my town! LOL LOL There aren't too many of them though! I actually found a map of my town, which when seen like that, it seems bigger than what it really is!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
BTW, you can call anytime ya want or stop by and say HI! Just be expecting someone that sounds similar to Ellie May or Daisy Duke! LOL LOL
Just let me know when!
Jane-Elise!!
Hey! We have a little landing strip here! But the only difference is we have crop-duster type planes instead of the Concorde!
