Wow, my accountant just called me regarding, what else, TAXES!! My husband and have been using him as a CPA and financial advisor for many years. Anyhow, I totally broke down when I told him that Greg & I were getting a divorce. The poor guy!!!!!, I feel so bad for breaking down like I did. Just uttering the words, WE ARE GETTING A DIVORCE, absolutely killed me. It really got to me.
I still can't believe that it is really happening!!!!!!!
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] !!

Hi Rejected,
I know exactly what you mean.
All the while waiting for the divorce date in court, I kept telling myself he wouldn't let it happen. And when he showed up in court (he didn't have to be there) I had a fleeting thought that again he was going to stop it.
He didn't.
It's good to let it out. No matter who with. I remember sitting at a bus stop int he city, and a Jehovah's Witness person gave me one of their little books. It was about how to keep a marriage alive, and what divorce does to families and society. I broke down, in City Square. At lunchtime. Everyone gave me pitying looks, kept on walking, and probably thought I was on drugs. It was only my heart breaking.!!!! A little old lady stopped and asked if I was ok, and all I could do was show her the book and say "my husband doesn't want our marriage" She really just clucked and tut-tutted, but the fact I could cry and say just those words with a stranger was a bit of a release.
Don't feel bad about crying with your accountant. You might get reduced fees!!!! LOL trying to cheer you up here!!!
I'm sorry you're going through this. It's the pits. Remember tho, we're here for you. And we understand everything that you're going through.
take care of you, and do something nice for yourself. Have a facial, or your nails done. go to a movie with a gf.
big hugs for you
Jo

Thanks Jo,
I just love knowing that those here understand what I am going through, no matter how crazy I think I am. I'm sure that most of us can share a "breakdown" moment!!!!!
I am having a few girl friends over tonight, and I am sure that I will forget my troubles, even if it is just for a little while!!!!
Thanks for the hug, I really needed that [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Petrie
Petrie,
You are not kidding! Friday AM I was walking my dog as I usually do when a neighbor of mine stopped me. We usually see each other walking our dogs in the morning and at night. She is about my age and has moved back to her parents (who live next store to me). Anyway we never really met or exchanged names, etc... but Friday she stopped me. She said that she noticed that I often come home in the middle of the day to walk my dog and that if I needed help with him, she would love to help since her work schedule is very flexible.
But it doesn't just stop with her comments - I guess most of my neighbors realize that they have not seen my wife in many months. They have all been very friendly to me over the past months, even though up until now I really have not met them.
And I will tell you what - just their concern sometimes touches my heart. After my neighbor approached me on Friday I had to double time it into my house, where once again the tears flowed... But they were not just tears of sadness, they were also tears of gratitude in knowing that people do care....
One thing I have learned through all of this is to "OPEN MY EYES" and look for the sad souls that are so often walking right next to us. My new goal is to try and brighten their day, maybe with just a smile or a friendly gesture... I challenge us all to do this - not only will we bring some happiness to someone who may need it, we will also be bringing some happiness back into our own lives!
Mike
------------------
God always waits for the right time to do the right thing in the right way.

I know exactly what you're going through. This weekend I broke the news to one of my cousins and asked for his support/prayers. I couldn't make it past "My wife and I are" before I broke down. I hope that as time begins to heal the wounds that the days will become easier for both of us. May the Lord bless us with clarity and patience.
Love, Bill

Thanks Mike & Bill!!
I am right there with you Mike, my tears also are of, of course sadness, but also because I can't believe how many people love me (I sure don't feel loveable!) I know that God has provided me with this as his way of showing me comfort. I am constantly being touched by this outpouring.
I don't walk around looking like I need pity (I hate pity), I put my best face forward, always. Just the other day (a long and trying one I might add) it was 11pm and I was in the grocery store (I don't sleep much). I am a fairly gregarious person and I strike up conversations easily. I frequent this store quite often, and am friendly with several of the people who work there. I hadn't seen this one person in particular for awhile and so we just started chatting a little. Not knowing anything I have been going through, he just out of the blue, was so uplifting to me. Not in a flirting sense, he wasn't trying to pick me up.
He was just extremely kind and at that particular time, I really needed it. I took that as a God's send. By doing that, he helped me realize that I can and do brighten other peoples day!
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Yeah, you just never know. A few weeks ago, one of the songs we were singing at church was "Here I Am, Lord". We got to the lines "I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone..." At that point I was unable to sing any more.
The funny thing is, I have sung that song both before and since without being struck in that way.
At the other end of the emotional scale, I have been practically inundated with Godsends from the beginning of my ordeal. God keeps bringing along just the right people at just the right time, with old friends from more than a decade past popping up unexpectedly, and other strange happenings. Petrie,
Let the tears come and allow them to flow. They are normal and they are cleansing. There were several times where certain 'triggers' sent me into a wave of tears, and even now, some of the silliest things will make my eyes water. However, the tears don't last long, and the episodes are much further apart.
Over years past, with other events in my life, I became somewhat hard and cold with myself and my emotions. Now that I have accepted and learned the healing process through my tears, I almost welcome them in a way.
Take care of you and know that it will get better.
I promise [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

(((REJECTED)))
Tough stuff. But you're getting through it. It's like a riptide. Don't swim against it, or let it suck you out to sea, just cut across it and find safe water. Every once in a while it will happen. Less and less. Then, there will still be a small residuum, but you will be able to live normally again.
