How many people here who are going through this mess, made comments about Clinton and his affair, And judged his infidelity? And made comments about how you would do things
differently or you would divorce the unfaithful louse if that every happened??
Just curious..

The reason I ask ... is because of the scripture...
Judge not lest ye be judged...
meaning to be put into the same circumstances in which you
judged another..to see just how you would react...

Actually, I used Clinton as a positive example! I said: "Hey, if they can keep their marraige together after all that, why can't we?"
It's an odd thing...using the Clintons as a role model for marital dedication! Yet I wonder...who has the stronger marriage? They've stayed together through who knows how many years of Bubba's philandering. My marriage fell apart after my X spent 3 weekends with the OM.
What gives? Should we look up to them for keeping it together despite all that's happened? Or do we despise them for staying married despite all that's happened?

Wanna hear something really disguisting?
I remember thinking, "Hey, it's his personal business. None of it has any bearing on him being President. But jeez," I thought, "What an idiot that Hillary is."
So let me think... hmmmm... when was this... gosh, could it be that it was during my three month affair? Oh yeah... that's it...
Yeah, the fog. And boy, am I embarrassed!!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/frown.gif)
But you know, you bring up a very valid point about "Judge, lest ye be judged"... I have this Christian friend named "A"... she was married for 13 years, pregnant with baby #3 and her H cheats, leaves her for OW. I hold her hand throughout. A year later, she is divorced. Suddenly she seems to change before my eyes: sleeping with a few guys... and finally, she begins to tell me about this one man-- problem marriage, doncha know. I see it coming, because of my experience with my then-H who "helped" OW in need... I tell her, "RUN A, as fast as you can, AWAY from that man. He's married, for God's sake"... but she doesn't. I virtually disown her as a friend. I **could not** believe what she had become, and she was "every" OW in my mind.
I bet you know what happens... he gets a divorce and marries her... they are now divorced... but that's not the point of my story... it's about what happened to me one year later... the time I should have taken my own advice and RUN, but instead had an affair... and then I had to look her in the face and tell her what I did and say how I shouldn't have been so judgemental.
I'm not saying we can't look at wrong, or sin, or evil, and call it what it is. But we can do it with love, and without judgement. I sometimes think that I had to learn lessons the hard way... and that's why I have had to suffer as I have.
Just something to think about.
------------------
~Sheryl
(a bit worse for the wear, but hanging in there)
Life is difficult.
The Road Less Traveled
~M. My biggest problem with Clinton is not that he cheated. He obviously has some serious issues there that he is not addressing. As a human being, he deserves compassion for being compelled (for whatever reason) to endanger his health, the stability and trust of his family, and the respect of the nation and the people who work with and for him. All of us have been our own worst enemies at times. And what do we do when we observe that in ourselves and others? Hatred doesn't fix anything...
Still, I do have a problem with him. As far as I'm concerned, he has shown little or no remorse. It seems to me he is more sorry that he got caught. He has taught a nation of children (and adults) that you can do something deceptive and "get away with it". Of course, we all know in the long run that he is just postponing the inevitable. The longer he waits to face his problems, the longer he will suffer. He doesn't have the courage to suffer NOW, get it over with. Face his failures, make amends, and work to make sure it doesn't happen again.
[This message has been edited by TheStudent (edited March 24, 2001).]

When that was going on...I wan't in an affair..and did make comments about the character..like..why not just admit that
it happened...and face the consquences of your actions...be an adult about it..at least..and I've admitted to mine..and am facing the consequences..and I won't say I was right in having the affair nor am I justified by my stbxh's never
being here..but I have learned alot about myself..and what I was looking for in a relationship..but mostly what I was looking for from a man that only God could provide..and that
was self-esteem..and who I am in Him..and not who I am
and what I am to other people..and what they think of me..
