I have posted several topics on my situation and I have received great advice on what I should do for my "marriage. Without going over the whole story again,,,basically for 5 months, my wife and I have been emotionally and physically detached. My wife told me last October, that her feelings are not what they should be and that she needed time and space to work things out. She said at some point she would try to work on getting back together, So during the course of these past five months, I read book after book on what I could do for the marriage, while she had her time and space. Last night, my wife told me that it was over, that she knows in her heart that even if she did try, things would not work out, and she came out and said....."I don't love you."<p>My only hope during these past five months, was the fact at some point, she would "try." Those hopes now are gone. From the beginning, she absolutely refused counseling. Everything I did, was focused on things that were needed to "help" in the marriage. Now, heart broken and completely "hopeless"......what can I do for ME?<p>We live in Asia, both working for a US company and she says she wants to remain here another 3 years....live married, not tell our co-workers...but, privately live apart. We continue to share the same bed....<p>What should I do?

Sean,<p>I feel for what you're going through. It really makes you mad that someone won't even try to make things work. But what can you do? If you'd still like to keep your wife I would continue to exhibit strong positive behavior. There is more than one story of a relationship being brought back from the brink, even when it looked for sure like it was over. So who knows but that it could happen for you. But I would not live with her under the circumstances you described. If she wants to break things off then I'd let the total weight of that fall on her. Let her do every bit of the dirty work because you aren't the one who wants it. For her to ask you to live 3 more years in what can only be a hell for you shows a high level of selfishness in my opinion. No way I'd do it. But that's your decision.
