Two weeks ago a friend's father was in the hospital following a heart attack and he was not expected to live through the day. Today he is at home recovering beautifully. I still believe God is around and He pulls off this kind of miracle.
And my children are resistent to the concept of "carry your lunch box from the car to the kitchen and empty it". This morning my d was carrying her lunch to the car and she dropped her applesauce which exploded all over the stairwell. I DID NOT yell at her. I did, however, ask her if this helped her understand why I say go get the lunchbox - not take your lunch to your lunchbox. And I did help her clean it up without yelling. I understand stupid mistakes like this. But I was proud of me. Even if we were running late.

Way to go! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
That is about the best thing I have heard in a while! To just enjoy being.
X and I have a nonstandard visitation arrangement. This weekend I have the children for the a whole weekend for the first time in ages. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Then Sunday I leave for 4 days away from home and the children - to go to a tourist trap and be part of the technical crew for a convention. Have the children for 2 days and then a personal break without those annoying little angels for 4 or 5 days.
Mama Vacation is almost here!!!!!!
