OK. Got to let this one out.<P>What in the H E double toothpicks is the stbx think?<P>I have primary custody of both kids. 75% for one and about 52% for the other. Don't even get me started on reducing my precious children to percentages!<P>So we are in court on Wednesday. New judge. Old one retired. This is good, because I didn't think the old judge read half the stuff that was submitted. But it is bad because they seem to have lost about half of the file, including my most recent income and expense statement.<P>The new judge sends us to mediation. Now this is totally worthless, because she has repeatedly said that she will not agree to anything. She wants the judge to decide.<P>She just filed a new income statement in which she reports income of $1K a month. Plus she has child care expenses of $300 month. Now, when we separated, she was making $2400 a month, but she said that she was taking a demotion at work to spend more time with the children. <P>IF YOU WANT TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE CHILDREN, WHY DO YOU HAVE A $300 A MONTH CHILDCARE BILL FOR 7 DAYS A MONTH WHEN YOU ONLY WORK 20-25 HOURS A WEEK?????????<P>So, rather than spewing my entire vent, I will distill it.<P>She told me that she does not want anything from me. So why is she working half time at a minimum wage job, not paying child support for 9 months and claiming huge child care bills so that I have to pay her child support? Even though I have the kids most of the time?<P>Why is it that, eventhough you say that you don't want anything from me, you want not only child support, but spousal support, and for me to pay all of your bills? What is wrong with f**kbuddy? His armored car driver salary will not support you in the lifestyle to which you would like to become accustomed?<P>OK. I need to stop before this gets out of hand. My problem is sort of similar, I guess. <I>My</I> wife also told me she didn't want anything from me, and she has effectively declined every offer I have made to give her something. And yet she has not bothered to get full-time work, preferring instead to use the courts to get spousal support from me, even though she has no children or any home responsibilities.<P>She turned down my offer to mediate and has ignored every attempt to get settlement negotiations going (although that may be her lawyer's doing, not hers). I think what it comes down to is that my wife feels that if she <I>accepts</I> anything from me she will thereby be <I>obligated</I> to me in some way, whereas if the courts <I>award</I> something to her, well, that's not <I>her</I> fault (somehow the fact that she <I>asked</I> the court to make the award gets lost in the muddle of her thinking).<BR>
