Hi all,
Thanks for writing me back on other threads. I am a "stander" standing for my marriage. My spouse filed for divorce and had me served last week. I will be seeing a lawyer this week and have decided not to sign. My husband says that "he is praying I sign so we can both get on with our lives since we don't love each other." I hate how he speaks for me since I still love him. I believe there is another woman involved and satan is quick to tell me that I am right. All weekend I felt defeated that I should give up and give in and go on with my life. I hate this so much, it's hard to do anything but sleep. Please write back, I feel so desparate.

Cigiwriter,
Once your H has filed...
...you need to protect yourself legally (and/or financially)... I usually make the recommendation of finding a good attorney. A good place to start off is at the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Search site. Do a search within your county... look for only "family law" specialists(>80% in divorce/custody/etc.)... make sure they do a lot of "family law committee work"... if they know the judges all the better... You can normally find a few that will give initial counseling free of charge.
USLaw.com (an alternative search site)
You can stand for your marriage...
...but the courts will fight you on the "earthly" things.
(the spiritual/moral things of this world are not measurable by the courts/legal system)
You will both suffer financially...
...to protect even a portion of your lifestyle...
...you need to see a good attorney.
Keep praying...
...miracles can and do happen...
...but realize in your prayers... it's not your will that counts...
You have my prayers.
![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Jim / NSR
