My husband throws these fits when he doesn't get what he wants, or if something doesn't go right. Most of these things are out of his control - and mine too. he recently threw our pet out of a window and killed him because the pet wouldn't go to the bathroom in the right place.
I feel scared, depressed, and I darn sure don't trust him right now. I'm working on all of those things, but I can't help feeling like this is the first step to him being abusive to ME.
i think you're right. i suggest you encourage him to take prozac. i once had a really bad temper. i have been destructive. it's true that men who abuse animals are only a small step from abusing people and a wife is a very convenient target. anyway, i started taking prozac to treat cronic depression and was pleasantly suprised to find that i no longer had such a short temper. i see it in others and feel sorry for the emotional pain they experience and subject others to. i've learned that for me anger was a panic reaction to a fear of losing control or losing an argument or somehow getting beat again. with prozac i have what i believe is a normal level of self confidence. i don't fear losing. i was surprised at how easy it was to get a scrip for prozac. i simply told my doctor i was always sad for no reason when i have every reason to be happy. i was afraid he was going to tell me get over it, deal with it, get councelling, read a book, etc.. but, he just turned around a wrote the scrip.. it was a miracle. i'm a new man, a better man, a more normal man. i've been taking it for over two years. doctors are now more willing to dispense drugs to help with mental problems. remember, you too can live better through chemistry. good luck.
