The 2000 census came up with the following stats:<P>-In 2.2 million households, fathers raise their children without a mother. That's about one household in 45.<P>-The number of single father households rose 62% in 10 yrs.<P>-The portion of households headed by fathers with children living there, doubled to 2% in a decade.<P>-households with both parents raising the kids incresed 6%<P>-single mother homes were up 25%<P>-married couples with children make up 24% of all households. They were 39% in 1970.<P>-single mother homes make up 7% of households in 2000, up from 5% in 1970.<P>-single father homes made up 3% of households in 2000.<P>
