I thought of your situation DanaB when I read this but it applies to us all:
"Couples cannot resolve in any healthy way the universal issues of marriage-dependancy and independancy, dominance and submission, freedom and fidelity, for example-without the security of knowing that the act of struggling over these issues will not itself destroy the relationship."
M. Scott Peck, "The Road Less Travelled" p.141

(((((((HOPELESS)))))))
When are you going to make a happier name girlfriend?
That quote was a mouthful! I had to read it a few times to get it into my head.
It makes a lot of sense. It's odd you sent that because it's something I've discussed with Bf in recovery right now.
I take that to mean that we have to be honest that the very factors we are dealing with have the very real power to destroy us. I also believe in my mind that anything that is a struggle is an opportunity to make ourselves stronger as an individual and in my case, working on making a stronger relationship too.
That sounds like a book I might like to read.
Hugs, Dana
