As many of you know, I work in a church office. Lots of interesting stuff goes on.
Anyway, the minister just came to the outer office and said that he was not looking forward to his next appointment. It's an individual pre-marital counseling appointment with a young woman (23 or 24 years old) who is getting married in three weeks. She says almost everything is planned, under control, and all is coming together well.
And he feels that the situation is such that he needs to talk her out of it. No, you're right....not a job just anyone could do.
But I give him respect for being willing to be honest with her. How many divorces could have been avoided, had the pastor have been as honest.
What a good man.
Aloha,
Mrs.O
Proverbs 25:11 "Like apples of gold in settings of silver, Is a word spoken in right circumstances."
Well, she left and I asked him if he'd had any luck. He said he listened to her and does feel more comfort with the situation than he felt earlier.
My response is that I hope she is not the Queen of Denial.
