I just rented When a Man Loves A Woman this week.
What a man. Does he really exist..... Was great.
Message in a Bottle was fantastic too. Tragic but great. Great to release all those pent up tears.
I just went to the cinema today to see that movie about 4 models, with the Australian supermodel Sara O'Hare and Freddy Prinze Jnr in it. I can't remember the name, good oh....It was great. funny (well, made me laugh anyway) and a lovely lovely love story. Not a tearjerker, but great.
I'll be hiring another movie this weekend, I'll try and find one that hasn't been mentioned.
Jo

Hey Jo, howya doing ey 'mate?
There's another movie you may try looking for called, "It's My Party" staring Gregory Harrison. I saw the movie once a few years ago and remember it to be rather sad. I'll warn you though, it is a movie about death related to HIV/AIDS and would not be a favorite among homophobic men. But since that is not you, you will probably be ok. Regardless of the sexual orientation of the movie, the story of love, loss and death is very tearjearking itself. I may even rent that one again one of these days.

------------------
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
~Joseph Campbell

Okay, so I'm back with another choice, and it will seem an odd choice since it deals with infidelity, but it is among my fav movies: Peggy Sue Got Married... hint, hang in there, it has a happy ending.

JT-
No, they are two different movies. Always is a love story, as is Chasing Amy, but Amy is by the same guy who made Clerks and Mall Rats, so if you don't like dry, sarcastic humor peppered in, don't rent it.
Others that makes me cry are My Best Friend's Wedding and Braveheart. Neither are really love stories though. Technically.

Forgot one: Last of the Mohicans! The last scene makes me lose it!
Also, if you are into plays, watch Our Town. However, get the 1987 version with Eric Stoltz and Penelope Ann Miller. The last act made me bawl like a baby.

HA!
Hope you have fun in Kauai....you know, the Big Island no ka oi!! ("is the best") But Kauai is nice too...that's where dingle-berry and I went on our honeymoon 12 years ago. It's probably changed some, but Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park were two of my favorite spots. (Good hiking, but could be rainy...)
I did see "Fearless" too....that was a neat movie...very insightful.
Aloha,
Mrs.O
