I had a great one. Didn't do much, or see too many people, but it was great anyway.
PS What color is the spandex???????????

xxxxxxxxx

Yep 160 total, but it was actually in two segments. The ride was the MS-150, but the course marshals never seem to get the mileage quite right.
I've got a couple of 100 milers scheduled for my off weekends this summer and a whole bunch of smaller ones too. My son is good to about 30 miles, so he's a good riding partner for the beach [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
The spandex is black. I'm kind of a tradionalist on my roadie, and plain old baggies on my MTB.
Still a bit stiff from the yardwork, and a bit sunburned as well, but it was a nice quiet weekend for me too.

------------------
nick
it's only time that heals the pain
and makes the sun come out again

Lisa,
sure we can share - you could have him Mon Tues and Wed, and I could have him for the rest of the week.... My little townhouse has such a big big garden!!! NOT.... Would that be enough for you and for the 100 ft of flower beds do you think??
And of course under his award you would have to provide a nice cold beer at the end of his duty!!!!
Couldn't you just imagine........ my single girlfriends would go nuts..........
Jayhawk, so good to hear from you again. It's been a while.
I'm with you on the 40 miles bit, and we don't even have miles over here. We have kilometres which are LESS than miles....
Thanks for the giggle, **you get winded driving 40 miles**, tee hee........
How have you been? Well I hope. Just lately I've been feeling great. I keep saying that if I was any better I'd be twins!!!!! I'm not dating anyone, I'm feeling this good just being by myself with my babies and my friends and family. Wow. Who would have thought??
Nick, how are those poor knees? I've got the oil and the warm pillow **thing** ready to go to make them all better.......
I think I might join a bike club, thinking thinking thinking......
Have a great day everyone,
Jo

hmmmm I seem to have gotten myself co-op'd....
Half the week at Jo's & the other half at Lisa's... If you include the commute, that sort of obviates any work around my little spot. Guess I'd better sell the ranch and make my self a road show [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Jayhawk, You have to build up a base. I didn't start out this season riding a couple hundred a week. Start out with a comfortable weekly mileage, say 30 or so over 4 or 5 days and work your base up 10% a week. Before you know it, you'll be putting more miles on your bike than your car.
Now back to the yard with me...
------------------
nick
it's only time that heals the pain
and makes the sun come out again
[This message has been edited by c00ker (edited June 05, 2001).]

Nick,
commuting wouldn't be a problem, I'll get you there on the **big white rat**.......
So this deal is ok with you? Lisa and I will just have to sort out the finer details and then it's all systems go....

Hmmmmm a jetsetting lawn boy? Has sort of an interesting ring to it. Can I take my weedwacker as carry on? Nick,
The MS-150? Very good. Have you heard of the "Tanqueray's Northeast AIDS ride?" I know they have them staggered through out the summer beginning in CA, one in
Montana, DC and in July it's 350 miles Bear Mt NY to Boston. My "H" is training for that one. New "very sweet" bike this year. He's in his zone on that thing.
d2

Almost lost my very own thread to the dread page two... [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I'd love to do the Aids ride in DC, but my fundrasing skills aren't that great. It's also hard to train with week on week off custody. My son is balking at the idea of any 100 mile training rides. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I too have a new ride. I've always wanted a high zoot bike & treated myself. My friends think I'm a bit disturbed, but there's something intrinsicly satisfying about hauling around a bike that's worth more than the truck it's attached to... [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
BTW, have you ever suggested a tandem? I always wanted to try one with my STBX, but she never expressed any interest. They're pretty popular around here & from what I've seen, very, very efficient. Might be a way for the two of you do spend time together.... Just a thought...
Now, have my employers worked out my schedule? This shuttling landscaping engineer needs to work out some details before chucking his current mundane lifestyle for the glamour of a shared personal transoceanic yard maintenance technician [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
nick
it's only time that heals the pain
and makes the sun come out again

[This message has been edited by c00ker (edited June 07, 2001).]

Oh MY! Spandex, Sweaty half naked male bodies, muscles, yard work, body rubs,... I've been away too long!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
*is it getting warmer in here, or is it just me?*
I can't wait to take some pictures of that spandex in a couple of weeks! Look out girls & get your check books ready... pics go on sale July 1! LOL LOL.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to post on Nick's very own thread!
Smooches,
Busty

Say, I don't recall saying anything about wearing spandex down to the beach. I would look awfully goofy playing beach V-ball in cycling shorts, don't you think? Besides I'm not sure I'm ready to have my spandexed tookus plastered all over the web. I might lose my "nice guy" status [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
On second thought... Maybe I need to experience this bad boy popularity phenomenom first hand. I could trade the Zeppelin for a Harley, get some tatoos, wear black leather, act like a jerk & get all the girls....
Nahhhhhh....
I'll stick with the "other" Nick [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
nick
it's only time that heals the pain
and makes the sun come out again
[This message has been edited by c00ker (edited June 07, 2001).]

c00ker's thread slide to page 2? Perish the thought!
Okay Bonnet,
As potential employers of Nick's Yard Care and Buff Bod Business, I'm thinking we should put him through some sort of pre-employment screening...and then at least a week long highly intensive training session in each locale....whatdya think? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] And, of course, spandex biking shorts are the the required uniform [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
We can work out the perks too, of course... [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]...just what kind of perks do shirtless jetsetting lawn boys require?
*Innocently batting eyelashes*
Lisa
------------------
I am woman...hear me roar...okay - meow...okay - purr? Hey, I'm working on it.

Nick,
I'm not gonna plaster your tookus all over the net... just sell pictures to the highest bidders [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
I think wearing spandex biker shorts to play V-ball is just fine... unless you'd prefer a speedo or.... nada [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
Now you guys have me stuck in Naughty Mode too! Next I'll be running amuck in the streets. LOL
Oh, and just fair warning... bring sunglasses... I have no tan! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Smooches,
B

Nick! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Have you forgotten that last summer you agreed to come be my yardman. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] And you haven't shown up yet. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] And I need mulch. And poison ivy eradication. And excess vegetation removal. And some holes filled. And some stuff replaced. And severe hedge trimming.
It's too much for my princess brain to handle. I can serve you Bass ale or Lemonade. Or cranberry or orange juice and ginger ale mixed. Will even spring for sandwiches or homemade cookies.

Hey Flutterby [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com],
What's the starting bid for that picture...yeah, the one on the left...$25? ...*holds up bid sign and waves it furiously until Butterfly notices*
Pssssst, Hey Nick,
I think you might be in trouble here...there seems to be a lot of women looking for yardmen (and many who are bidding on some interesting "tookus" pictures)...you might need to call in for reinforcements [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Lisa
------------------
I am woman...hear me roar...okay - meow...okay - purr?
