and the thought didn't even cross my mind until my sis reminded me today at lunch.
It's kind of funny in way...A year ago I was tangled up in feelings and pain and this year it wasn't even on my mind. I mean I haven't even thought about it comming up or nothing...I can't decide if this is healing or lingering denial...
Any thoughts???
Bill
------------------

May the roads rise to meet you,
May the winds always be at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May god hold you
In the hollow of his hand.

Oh honey, who knows... I thought about it this year (2 months ago)... not big-time thought about it... but did think about it nonetheless... and I would suspect that next year I will have a <ding> of memory, and the next year less... and then one year the day will just pass on by...
Hugs! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)

I'd vote for healing, because I've had such thoughts myself.
My would've-been 4th anniversary is coming up soon, but in just a few weeks another anniversary is coming up: Her first meeting with the OM was almost a year ago.
Its odd to think that just a year ago I was totally oblivious to the severity of the problems in my marriage. I was totally unaware of MB, or the causes and effects of infidelity, and I had no idea the amount of emotional trauma I could take and still keep my sanity.
You've learned a lot in the last year. You aren't the same person you were back then. You've been changed by your experience, and you approach your anniversary from a totally different perspective.

Sounds like you are healing. I think that as the years go by and as you continue to move forward, that day will just be a thought.

Hi WilliamJ ~
I hope that I reach the same spot emotionally where it just becomes a day of interest...sounds like you are healing, I'm jealous ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Last year on my 10th, I was in the hospital in so much pain I didn't have to think about it. I still kinda wonder about God's methods of distracting me on that day! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
My 11th anniversary will be in Sept. I don't know what I'll be feeling then - but I hope it's peace.
------------------
Pain is a given, misery is optional.

Bill,
Regardless of remembering the day or not, you are definitely on the healing path! My former wedding anniversay is the day before my BD, so it is easy to remember. It passed last year without much ado, and I am expecting the same this year - next week.
I rememeber your very first post, Bill. You started posting a short while after I had become a regular poster. We, along with other contemporaries, have shared a whole lot of emotion together. I definitely see that you have come lightyears ahead in terms of acceptance of the situation that you could not change and in working on yourself.
Did you see Dear Abby yesterday? The one in the paper here talked about failed relationships. Abby said the same thing I always say - when one door shuts, another will open in your life. Your life has turned around and you are seeking and feeling joy and happiness again.
I am proud of how well you have weathered this storm. No going back to drugs, and I am sure the temptation has been there for you throughout this ordeal. You are doing great considering what you have had to deal with. Keep on trucking!
Take care, Desiree
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
Hey Bill,
I also think you are doing great and are well into your road of recovery.
Along the same lines as Desiree, my grandfather always used to say that "God would not close a door without opening a window." That, and "time heals all wounds".......
------------------
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
~Joseph Campbell
