Hi all, I just found this forum and I was wondering if there was anyone that could offer support from this site, there appears to be many friendly souls frequenting this place.
I thought until recently that I had a wonderful marriage, nearly 10 years and a beautiful 3 year old daughter. We've had our issues, like any marriage, but we've managed to work through these.
My wife has been seeking support from a counsellor for 6 months to discuss issues from her childhood and her relationship with her parents, and has been on anti-depresants for about 6 months.
Recently my wife returned to work after 10 years, primarily to earn some additional pocket money, she works in a local restaurant 3 nights a week.
She has been seeking some "meaning" to her life, and as such has applied to return to school to begin a nurses' course, with an ambition to work in this field. All of this I have been supportive of.
However, more recently we have been spending little or no time as a family, my wife now works 5-7 evenings a week, during those days we see each other for about 30 minutes between me returning from, and her going to work. She schedules evenings off from work, but only because she has arranged to go out with her friends.
I have arranged family days out, but during these she appears distant, angry, and looks like she would like to be anywhere else but there. When I approach her on this, she explains that she is tired.
We have started to see a therapist to help us talk through these issues, but these are early times. In fact when we got out of our meeting yesterday my wife received a call to go into work that evening (hence cancelling our night-in together).
It seems to me that our family has a very low priority in my wife's eyes at the moment. Is this some sort of mid-life crisis that my wife is experiencing (and how can I help her) or is the the crumbling of a relationship, a woman desperately seeking to exit ?
Any insight would be be grately appreciated, I don't really have any friends that I am able to discuss this with.

Hi ((((((((((((((mustang))))))))))))))))),
Bet you've been waiting all day for a reply!!!
First of all welcome to our group, we hope you keep posting, because it will really help you.
A potted history of me. H left about 4 weeks ago to have some "space". He had an affair in November, ended it, (I'm now not sure if he did) and we were working on things, well I thought we were until then. So it's raw for me too.
Okay, have you read everything you can on this site regarding Plan A and B, Love Busters and Love Banks? If not go back to the home page and find them. Second, you have to realise a BIG thing. If your W has a wall up, and doesn't respond to the "normal" things, you can't do a lot about it. You can NEVER make another person love you, sorry, but true. I have had seven months to reflect on that. But there are ways to take the bricks in that wall down slowly, if you have the patience. I also know this, and I,ve only worked on this consistently fo about three weeks. There IS hope, and there IS support here....go for it!!!!
Love Nina
