My power has been out all weekend after a storm.
W asked me if i could watch kids so she could meet with her sponsor. i said sure, they were going to comer over here, but w/o power i stayed with them at the house instead.
She was gone over 3 hours, so i had lots of free time. Tried to do a few nice things-did the dishes, mowed a troublesome part of the yard i know she could not hanlde. i did not tell her i did these things-she'll figure it out.
When she got back, we had a goo talk. Nothing about OR, but we shared some things with each other we are both doing. She even gave me a relationship video to watch a friend had given her and she said she liked. Watched it tonight-lots in it about working at marriage, growing within marriage, how romantic love fades.
I was also going to take an old copy of Thomas Moore's 'Soul Mates' from the bookshelf to read, she saw it and said she wanted to read it too. So' i'll pass it back to her when i'm done. i felt like we connected on at least some level.
Even made her laugh with a joke (that i picked up here, no less). i finally left feeling good, she thanked me several times for doing her the favor.
Maybe a small step.
It has been interesting-in the last week, i have started to feel a little better. i think i have detached some, and that has made it a little easier to cope with things. i think maybe she is seeing that difference too. i feel more centered, more confident, less desperate and emotional. i have lowered my expectations of her, and it has lifted some weight.
i have started to really do some things for me-joined a separated/divorced group at church, went out to dinner wiht them tonight. Went out last night for dinner, ran into a neighbor so we ate together. Think i'll take a class this fall. i can see possibility of life without her, which i hope makes more life with her a little more possible. We'll see. i am trying to stay grounded

Keep it up, and let us know how it's working.
So far, my wife have seen each other every day but one since her move-out. We haven't had a single R talk, but that's probably for the best right now.

I'm still waiting for that talk, too! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] At least I would not be doing the limbo!
