My friend gave me two books to read to help me through my separation and hopeful reconciliation and was just wondering if anybody on the site has read either of these two books.
GETTING BACK TOGETHER
by Bettie Youngs Bilicki, Ph.D. & Masa Goetz, Ph.D.
TOO GOOD TO LEAVE TOO BAD TO STAY
by Mira Kirshenbaum
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No, Michele...I have not, although the second one...I came close to buying, but bought 'How One of You Can Bring the Two of You Together Again'...based on titles, and a quick skim. It turns out that most all of these 'repair manuals' spout similar stuff, and the healing ones, too. Lem'me know what you think. -Mike

sball,
I'm reading "Getting back together" right now. It's good in the respect that it helps you figure out how to take care of yourself and to figure out what you want in a relationship.
I would also recommend "Divorce Busters" by Michele Weiner-Davis. It also focuses on "us" and it gives success stories. She is also coming out with "Divorce Remedy" in Sept. I've read the first chapter so far and it seems to be really helpful. I'm looking forward to it. Even if someone is not on the verge of divorce, it is a good read. It works well along with MB concept.
Yes, these books do tend to subscribe to the same practices, but I think some offer more insight than others. It is up to us to find one that works for us.
Good luck,
K

I think the Kirshenbaum book is one I borrowed from the library a while back and wasn't too impressed with. I'm realy not sure about that though.
The book Mike mentioned, by Susan Page, was very good.
