I have been married to a beautiful woman for almost 12 years and have 2 children ages 9 and 7. We have had some problems in the past, but most of that was related to money and the fact that I was in the Navy. She had an affair about 5 years ago that lasted about 6 months. We got through that and things were going good until I messed up, but it was not an affair....it was more or less a one night stand. That was about 3 years ago. Things have been going good for us lately, but now she met a person who she says is a perfect match and she is not sure if she what she wants anymore. She says she loves me but I never see/feel it. We pulled together after our previous mistakes but I think this one has us. I love her to death and don't want to lose her. She claims to only be friends at this time with this guy and swears nothing has happend. He is married with 2 kids and to top things off, he is a pastor. I am really hurt right now, because she has only known this guy for about 3 weeks, and I am positive of that. We met together, thats why. Now she is basically thinking about throwing away our marriage of 12 years for someone she met 3 weeks ago, just because he says things that makes her happy. Help!!

I, the WS, was swept off my feet by the OM fairly rapidly as well (4-6 weeks). And it wasn't initially any "fog" that did it. It was that I was so alone and so "stuck" in a miserable marriage that was going nowhere, that it didn't take much to illustrate how pathetic my marriage truly was. I guess I was so "hungry" for anything that resembled a real relationship that it was easy for me fall for someone that so expertly met all my needs.
