For those of you with experience, and i know i don't with stupid divorces,
Qestion: at what point, when, if at all, do you offer to the kids your house, your custody, when they get to choose?
so say at age x, they have a say, do you wait to respond to them? or do you offer, etc. of course this puts the kids in the middle, but then again, they always will be.
just curious.
thanks to anyone who has been there. . . .
WIFTTy

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but her's my situation...I initially refused to sign a no-fault divorce. My XW threatened to sue me for mentally cruelty, so I figured that the gloves were off. I then asked my 15 year old son what he thought. He said that the cruelty went the other way, and that he supported me keeping the house, and 50/50 custody. I told her that she should go ahead with her lawsuit, but that if she'd move, and give me 50/50 custody, I'd lie about the separation, and sign the papers, but she had to take her maiden name back. She changed the paperwork on me, and the court never made her take her name back, which still pi$$e$ me off. Truth is, I'm okay with it turning out this way. I just can't afford it, but that's another matter! -Mike

As far as custody do not use children as a pawn here, both parents truely know who is best to care for the children and if they are young in most cases it is the mother. I had custody of my daughter when she was 15 she asked to go stay with her mother, I let her go , she was back in a month.
