Dropped the kids off Sunday P.M. I was dressed in new khakis, new belt, good shirt since i was going on to church after the drop-off. Wife commented on how nice the pants looked, even noticed new belt, then said i had lost lots of weight-what was i down to, how was i doing it. i answered but was vague.
By way of background, i am going hiking Labor Day (went, actually), on my own, to a mountain we tried with the kids but only did about 1/2 of. Something I really want to do for me. W knows about it, is very curious. Offered last week to let me keep kids Sunday night, but i told thanks a lot, but i have plans to hike first thing Monday.
Those here who say they notice everything are so right! Anyway, we chatted a few minutes, then i went on. Did not tell her, but drove to my Mom's house after church for dinner and to spend the night (more or less on the way to where i hiked). Forgot to ask W for camera-well when i got home from hike just now, she had left message saying i had forgotten it, come by if i want to pick it up (i bought a disposable). Interesting.
The hike was FANTASTIC! Beautiful day, cool and breezy. It took everything i had to get to the top of thet mountain, but i did it! Turned out to be about 14 miles RT, but return leg was easy. I loved it, had lots of time to think. Nothing like sitting on top of a moumtain looking DOWN at the clouds to clear the mind. I feel mentally recharged, although physically pooped. It was a great day, drove back roads home-beautiful scenery.
Going to an Al-Anon meeting tonight-life is OK just now.
