2 months after d-day. Plan B'ing WS, have no contact at all and no idea what is going on with her life. Last conversation we had was a month ago separating our things where she decided not to work it out, however she refuses to file..asks rhetorically why I am 'pushing' the issue. I am living in cali now for the last 9 mos, she in hawaii. I will not pursue the divorce, and we have already agreed on division of assets(not on paper). I have some stock on e-trade and a rollover from the 401k from my previous job in hawaii. Is there a way to hide my assets in case she changes her mind and hires an attorney? ie. can I cash out my 401k and stock and put it in my closet? I have a lawyer friend in hawaii, but he isn't familiar with divorce law. Anyone have some advice?

Hi Indecision,
I'm not familiar with divorce law in the states, but you might want to try www.divorcenet.com they have boards relating to divorce law for each state pretty much, and there are a lot of knowledgable people there that can help. But just a word to the wise, there are some 'troll's and it can be very volatile over there, so take any attitude with a grain of salt.
Good Luck
I-am
[This message has been edited by I-am (edited September 05, 2001).]
[This message has been edited by I-am (edited September 05, 2001).]
[This message has been edited by I-am (edited September 05, 2001).]
